Whether you are a 2021 grad or one of the first graduates to grace the halls of Shepherd Hill, you will always be a Ram. Our hope is to use this newsletter as a space to keep you informed as to what's happening with our alumni and to let you know about any upcoming events or opportunities!

Bob Talbot, Class of 1974, contacted SHRHS in February as he was going to be in the area for his mother’s 95th birthday, visiting from his home in Virginia. He wanted to be able to take some pictures of his original work of art and frame it in order to show his grandkids the part of his legacy he completed in 1974, “The Home Of The Fighting Rams .“ He told us the story about how his art teacher, Carl Schubert, asked if anyone was interested in doing a special project for the school. So he and Russ Chickering, his classmate, volunteered. He further told us he wasn’t an artist by any means, but wanted to contribute and he and his classmate set up all the staging and worked on it during his study halls. He let us know that if you look close enough you can see how it “keystones” because of the angle of the projector.

For almost 50 years it has been up for all to see as they exit the gymnasium. He is as proud today as he was back in 1974 of his work and for being a Shepherd Hill Ram Alumni. Great moments!

From Meghan: "On April 18th, Meghan Thomas (Class of 2018) will be running the Boston Marathon with the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge Team! Running the Boston Marathon has always been on Meghan’s bucket list, and when making the decision to run it this year, she knew Dana-Farber was the perfect team to join. In the Summer of 2019, Meghan’s mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and received 19 treatments at Dana-Farber, and has since been cancer free.

The Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge Team supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research, which fuels some of today's most promising cancer research. Meghan is running not only for her mom, but also for friends and families who have been affected by cancer in the past or present in hopes of an eventual cancer-free world.

Meghan has a goal of raising $10,000 to help the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge Team reach their cumulative goal of $5.5 million. One hundred percent of the money raised by the team supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Anya Grondalski ('20) is spending her second spring semester as a Public Affairs intern with the US Environmental Protection Agency and attending classes in Washington, DC. Congrats, Anya!
