A Note from the Office
Dear Parmenter Families,
As we turn the page to February, we find ourselves reflecting on the heart of our school—our incredible students, staff, and families. This month brings opportunities to celebrate kindness, connection, and perseverance, all values that define Parmenter.
We are especially excited for Kindness Week, where our students will continue to show that small acts make a big difference. And as we move forward in our school’s journey, we remain grateful for the support and resilience of this community.
Thank you for being part of what makes Parmenter so special.
Be well,
Evan Chelman, Principal

Midyear Assessment Update
In January, following our district’s assessment schedule, students in grades K-3 will participate in a series of literacy screenings (DIBELS). These assessments offer important insights into each student's current literacy skills, growth, and progress since the September benchmark screenings. The results will help us identify students who may benefit from additional support in specific areas. If a screening suggests that further assistance is needed, your family will receive a letter in early February outlining the steps we're taking to support and monitor your child’s progress. We will continue to assess their development regularly and adjust instruction as necessary to meet their needs. If you do not receive a letter, it means your child is performing at or above the expected level. While scores will not be sent immediately, teachers will reach out if there are any concerns. As always, please feel free to contact me or your child’s teacher with any questions
