Lowell's Newsletter
December 13, 2024
Dear Lowell School Families,
Winter vacation is just a week away, and I know many of you are facing significant workloads as we prepare for the break. Here at school, we are committed to supporting our students' social and emotional well-being during this busy time of year. It's important to infuse joy and light-heartedness into our days as we celebrate the many achievements we've experienced this year—both personally, professionally, and as a vibrant school community.
One such moment of celebration was today’s Winter Concert, which was a resounding success. Our students are truly blossoming into remarkable musicians, and the performance by our talented chorus was nothing short of spectacular. The event was a testament to their hard work and dedication, as well as to the incredible efforts of our music and performing arts department. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved. Your passion and commitment enrich our school, and we are so fortunate to have you as part of our community.
As we approach the holiday season, let's continue to support one another and take pride in everything we've accomplished together.
With gratitude!

This Week's Highlights!
What has Lenny been doing in second grade this week?
In Wit and Wisdom, I listened to a story called The Buffalo Are Back. I learned about how the number of buffalo in the plains got lower and lower in the mid 1800s. The settlers hunted the buffalo. This made it hard for the Native Americans living in the plains. People that cared about the prairie and the buffalo helped bring back the buffalo. We also made a timeline.
I looked at a map of the U.S. and located the West.
In social studies, I learned about maps and found the continents, oceans, and compass rose on a map of the world.
I learned that the oceans cover most of the Earth.
In math, I learned strategies for subtraction.
