A Note from Mrs. Lake & Mrs. Gross
Hello Grassy Creek Families!
May will be a busy month for us! We are finishing the ILearn test this week and will conduct make-up sessions next week. We will also have special activities for the students such as Big Blue Camp for our intermediate students, the book fair from May 13-17, and a visit from Boomer! In addition, several grade levels will be taking field trips this month. We appreciate your support in funding the trips and being willing to volunteer as chaperones. If you have any questions about the field trip your child is taking, please contact your child's homeroom teacher.
We will be hosting Field Day on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Our students in grades K-2 will participate from 12:30-3:00 p.m. Our students in grades 3-5 will participate from 9:15-11:15 a.m. Parents are welcome to attend to watch their child participate. Please don't bring siblings to this event. If you plan on attending, meet at door 2 at 9:10 for the morning group and 12:25 for the afternoon group. We will have you enter at this door and direct you to where your child will be.
Our awards day will take place on Friday, May 24. Families are welcome to come for this program. Please enter through door 2. We will NOT be having guests for lunch on the last day of school due to using the LGI for an alternate purpose. Here is the awards day schedule:
K 1:40-2:30
1st 2:45-3:25
2nd 12:45-1:20
3rd 10:15-10:55
4th 11:15-11:55
5th 9:10-10:00
Please make sure to register your child to attend school for the 2024-2025 school year. This helps us plan appropriately with the number of staff we hire and with curricular orders. Registration needs to occur annually for all students in Clark-Pleasant schools. Here is the link to information about registering.
Our PTO is hosting an information and planning meeting on May 13 at 5:30. Please consider attending and volunteering for PTO next year.
Have a wonderful May!
Mrs. Lake and Mrs. Gross

It's Time to Enroll!
All students, new and returning, need to submit a registration for the 2024-2025 school year.
Even if your student is currently enrolled at a Clark-Pleasant school, an updated registration needs to be submitted for every student for every school year. The registration process contains essential questions and agreement statements that are required by state and federal agencies for schools and districts to ask all households, every school year. July 8, 2024 is the Force Registration Date. This means that if you have not registered your child(ren) via ParentVue by July 8th, a process in ParentVUE will require ParentVUE users to complete an updated registration for the new school year before they can access any other modules in ParentVUE. Please be sure to have your updated registration submitted before that process locks in on July 8, 2024.

Car Rider Information & Reminders
To improve traffic flow during arrival and dismissal at GCES, we would like families of GCES students to enter school grounds off of Worthsville Road onto Palmore Way (first entrance to CPMS.) Then take your first left before the tennis courts (turn left/west). Continue on the access road to the end of the sidewalk on the north side adjacent to door 8.. Staff members will walk out door 8 to welcome students into the building at 8:50. We will no longer use the front of the building for drop off. Cars should continue on straight to exit the lot.
Clark-Pleasant Early Learning Center is a part of GCES, and their arrival time is 8:45. These families will enter off Sheek Road and line up for drop off in the front of the building,
If students arrive after 9:05 a.m., an adult will need to park and sign their student in at the front office.
Car rider families should enter the same way for afternoon car rider pick up, but stop at the corner that leads to the front drive. A staff member will come out at approximately 3:50 to dismiss students. Students will exit out of door 4. Cars should pull up to the flag pole once dismissal begins.
ATTENTION: Parents of students that go to after school daycare!
If your student attends a daycare that is within our GCES boundary, you will need to complete an "alternate bus stop" form in order for your child to be dropped off at the correct stop. You can access that form here or contact our transportation office at 317-535-7255.
