September Re-Cap!
Blue Back Night! I got to meet so many parents, including Principal Hernandez!
Our September Senior spotlight, Kate Taylor!
Kate's parents came out to Blue Back Night. Kate's father is the author of the YA, realistic fiction novel, Thieving Weasel's. Kate is apart of MacUp where she is able to attend college courses at UTSA this semester. She's also in Mr. Davidson's MacTeach program where the students engage in various humanitarian efforts. Kate is an all-star student. She helps her peers, teachers, and the library staff. We are so proud of Kate and look forward to see her continue to soar as she embarks on her college era!
Hispanic Heritage Month Cook-Off
Hispanic Heritage Cook-Off
Mrs. Terri, director of NEISD library services, and Mrs. Landa, library services instructional coordinator!
The food was delicious.
Adopt a shelf is going strong! I love seeing the students creativity.
Suicide Prevention Month Display
Our word of the week is "long suffering."
Definition: having or showing patience in spite of troubles especially those caused by other people.
There is a quote that I love from Stevie Nicks. She says "I've learned as time passes that all the things that you are afraid of will come and they will go, and you will be alright." I want all of my Mac community to be encouraged that you have the light within you to carry you through any hardship. Don't give up!
TeenTober is upon us!
TeenTober is a YALSA (Young Adult Library Services Association) "nationwide celebration hosted by libraries every October and aims to celebrate teens, promote year-round teen services and the innovative ways teen services helps teens learn new skills, and fuel their passions in and outside of the library."
We hope to have a month full of fun for our Mac teens. We kicked off the celebration with our "lizard brain" contest. The kids learned about the three layers of the brain and how we have the power to rewire our brains. Our brains have almost infinite ability to retain knowledge. They are so powerful! Check out the pictures below from our first teentober event.
