Bluejacket Family Communication
December 19, 2024
Dear Bluejacket Families
As 2024 comes to an end, it’s the perfect time to think about the moments that made this year special. Together, we’ve celebrated wins and strengthened the connections that make our schools and community so amazing.
This time of year reminds us to focus on what we value. Whether it's a teacher sparking curiosity, a community event bringing us together, or family time at home - these moments create memories we’ll carry with us.
Already this year, we’ve had so many (thousands) moments to celebrate! I thought that I would take a moment to highlight just a few:
Welcoming a New School Year: As we embarked on the journey of the 2024-2025 school year, our staff was greeted by familiar faces, igniting a spirit of unity and excitement. Check it out.
Music in Our Schools: The enchanting sounds of the ukulele resonated through the hallways, inspiring students as they traveled to and from class. See the joy in action.
Coming Together: Our Cambridge-Isanti Online students and families embraced the beauty of community during an in-person field trip on a stunning autumn day. View the photos here.
Celebrating Athletic Accomplishments: Our Bluejacket Girls Tennis Team proudly claimed the Mississippi 8 Conference Championship, triumphantly returning to the top after three years. Celebrate with them here.
Thankful for Community Support: With heartfelt gratitude, we acknowledge the incredible support from our community, which led to multiple nominations for the Best of Isanti-Chisago County Star 2024 Reader's Choice. View the full list.
These moments show what The Bluejacket Way is all about—honesty, respect, responsibility, self-discipline and compassion. These values are the heart of everything we do, and they make our schools and community stronger.
Thank you for the countless ways you’ve supported our schools and partnered with us this year. You make Cambridge-Isanti a place where we can all thrive. I am honored to be part of this community and look forward to all we will accomplish together in 2025!
Wishing you a joyful and refreshing winter break.

Strengthening Teaching and Learning Through Professional Development
This fall, our district has prioritized professional development to enhance teaching and learning practices for our staff while aligning these efforts with the objectives of our Strategic Plan. During workshop week, as well as on our September 27 and December 2 professional learning days, our educators engaged in meaningful training and collaboration to strengthen classroom practices and meet the evolving needs of our students in a changing world.
One key focus has been The Catalyst Approach training, where staff explored strategies to deepen student engagement and effectively manage behavior by prioritizing connection over compliance. These practices foster increased student independence and achievement. Additionally, we advanced our work in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), where teachers analyze student data and refine instructional practices to ensure every learner receives the targeted support they need to succeed.
This year has also marked significant progress in our READ Act implementation. Our teachers are integrating new literacy curriculum and instructional strategies to build strong foundations in reading—skills that are critical for lifelong learning and success.
By aligning this professional learning with our Strategic Plan, we are equipping our educators with the skills, knowledge, and strategies needed to adapt, innovate, and provide high-quality instruction. This dedicated time is essential to address the current needs of our students while preparing them for a future full of opportunity.
Thank you to our families and community for your continued partnership and support as we work together to help all students thrive.
