Student Led Conferences December 5 4:30-6:30
We will be doing a Food Drive for Niverville Helping Hands during this time. Families are encouraged to bring a "Tin for the Bin" to the conferences to support this cause.
November is STEM month at NES
The classes of NES will be challenged with the GREAT NES MARBLE RUN CHALLENGE. Families can help us out by sending in supplies such as cereal and cracker boxes, paper towel and toilet paper rolls. We'll keep you in the loop on how things are going!
Science is a way of thinking. Science is observing and experimenting, making predictions, sharing discoveries, asking questions, and wondering how things work.
Technology is a way of doing. Technology is using tools, being inventive, identifying problems, and making things work.
Engineering is a way of doing. Engineering is solving problems, using a variety of materials, designing and creating, and building things that work.
Math is a way of measuring. Math is sequencing (1, 2, 3, 4…), patterning (1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2…), and exploring shapes (triangle, square, circle), volume (holds more or less), and size (bigger, less than).
Check out this website for some awesome STEM challenges to try as a family!
Learning Support Corner
Hearing Screening took place at the end of October at NES. If any concerns or questions arose for your child you will receive a letter encouraging follow up with an audiologist.
Please communicate any changes to medication or health care needs to your child's teacher as soon as they occur. Ensure that their medications, including inhalers and epi-pens are current. All medications have expiration dates.
If your child requires medication to be administered at school, a form is available at the office for you to fill out. All prescribed and over the counter medications must be in the original containers and liquid medications must be accompanied by a syringe or measurable spoon.
Virtual Lost and Found
Here are the items left in our Lost and Found in the month of October. It will be cleaned out Friday, November 8. Claim any items that are yours. The Lost and Found is located just inside our front doors by the office- items are on display on a table just inside the doors

- If a student arrives late to school, please have them come in through the front doors to check-in at the office before they go to their classroom
- Town students should be arrive at 8:55 for school. The supervision in the morning is limited and this is for students that are arriving on the bus.

PARENT PORTAL/STUDENT INFORMATION
The HSD Parent Portal is a communication tool designed to enhance and increase parent/guardian involvement in the education of their children by providing secure online access to their child's student information. With a single username and password, you can access data for each of your children attending an HSD school. The Access IDs along with setup instructions have been sent via email to all eligible parents/guardians of new students. If you are new to NES and did not receive the specified email, please contact the school office at 204-388-4861.
Please take a few minutes to review the student information and contact information for your child. It is important that the school has current address and contact information for your child in case it is necessary to reach someone during the school day. Changes can be made through the parent portal.
