The Falcon Flash
Tis the Season!
Principal's Message
Recently, Fox River students, staff, and community were able to raise $4800.00 to send our beloved veterans on Honor Flights! Over the past several years the Fox River community has raised close to $40,000! We are extremely proud of the accomplishment and look forward to raising more money in the future.
Even more exciting news--Fox River hosted two holiday concerts over the past two weeks. This was the first time in nearly two years that we ushered in the holidays listening to our young musicians demonstrate their singing and playing talents. The first concert was a choir concert on December 9, 2021 in the Fox River Commons. The second concert was a 7/8 instrumental concert on December 14, 2021 in the Fox River Gymnasium. Both concerts were fantastic and it was nice to see the community enjoying Fox River.
This is just a reminder that we will soon be enjoying a holiday break beginning on December 23-January 3. The Fox River Staff would like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday!
Sincerely,
Jason
Fox River Spirit Days!
Check out what happened at Fox River over the last month:
Athletics
Girls’ volleyball season started Monday, December 6. Practices will be Monday-Friday 2:45 until 4:30. Games start in January. If you need information, stop by the office or see Ms. Zuelke, Mrs. Jastroch, or Mr. Pautz. Information also available on the Fox River Athletics website.
From the Front Office
Thank-you for all of the photographs that were contributed to our “Every Day is a Bonus” veteran’s display. The photos have been taken down and returned to students. If you have not received your phot(s) back please ask your student and then call the main office.

Student Services
During November, the second set of students started a group around the topic of managing stress and anxiety run by Ms. Francour and Ms. Zuelke. The group ran for 6 weeks. The students have been great participants, have been eager to learn, and share their own techniques that have helped them through times of stress and anxiety.
Counselors went into every sixth grade classroom and taught a lesson titled “Common Types of Bullying and Recognizing Bullying.” We explored physical, verbal and relational bullying. We also discussed how intention relates to hurting someone’s feelings and the difference between joking around and bullying. Sometimes our intention is to joke around, but instead we hurt someone. What do we do when we realize that has happened? How do we figure out if that has happened?
Counselors joined sixth grade classes a second time this month and explained the Speak Up, Speak Out (SUSO) program. SUSO is a national suicide prevention program. The contact information is on the back of every FRMS ID! We want our students to understand when and how to access support for themselves or others.
Library
Thank you to those of you who supported our Fox River Scholastic Book Fair. It was very successful! We will be using the amount we earned to purchase books and other resources for the library and Fox River Students.
For families interested in getting books for their children, we have also started offering access to Scholastic Book Orders for Fox River students. While paper flyers are available, the best place to browse and shop is online. Look here for more information: https://bit.ly/WGSDbookorder. The current order is due December 3.
