O God,

you send us signs and wonders

and gave us Mary as our mother and model.

Grant us a portion of her wisdom, humility, and strength to do

your will.

Help us to imitate her role as a faithful disciple and servant

Dear Parents, Friends, Guardians, Staff, and our Wonderful Mothers,

May all of our amazing mothers have a Happy Mother's Day! A massive shout-out to our P & F who not only organised a fantastic Mother's Day stall but also hosted an incredible Mother's Day breakfast, supported by so many dads who volunteered to help out. It is truly special how our Holy Rosary community comes together.

Our prayer this week is dedicated to Jesus' mother, Mary.

Congratulations to our interschool swimming team for finishing third in the Interschool A Division! A big thank you to Mrs. Lisa Jeffcote and the staff who supported our team.

Pre-primary parents have been messaged via Seesaw about opportunities to help in the classroom. I will be running induction sessions for parents to provide clarity about expectations, supporting children learning to read and how we keep children safe by following our code of conduct when on parent help. I acknowledge that many families have both parents working full-time and parent help is not an expectation, it is appreciated if you can.

A survey about swimming lessons, costs, and more will be shared out in Week 5.

Aloha! What a great Book Fair! Thanks to you all, we have hundreds of dollars of free books for our library and a wonderful cash supplement to our budget.

Special thanks to Anna Capolingua for all her help and organisation as well as our wonderful mum and grandma helpers Tarryn, Lyndy, Kelly and Pip.

Special thanks to Tarryn who has helped at every timeslot at each Book Fair over the past many years, even on the Mother’s Day breakfast mornings. You will be missed in 2026!

Library Monitors you are superstars! Daniella, Alicia, Remy, Andrew, Elliot and Max thank you for giving up so much of your time to make the Fair a huge success. I hope everyone enjoys their books and has a very happy Mother’s Day!

All year groups are learning so much in their Friendology sessions and hopefully having a lot of fun too!! I am certain they would love to share their new knowledge with you at home.

On Thursday 29th May, week 5, all students will participate in a “Day of Friendship” with their buddies, where they will have the opportunity to use and develop their new skills as Friendship Ninjas in a fun environment. The day will consist of a timetable of rotating friendship stations and students are invited to dress as a ninja (no accessories please) or in their sports uniforms.

Parents will be invited to participate in online training the week prior, so that we are all speaking the same language and supporting our children to be the best friends they can be, to themselves and to others. More information will follow in the newsletter next week. We are excited to share this learning journey with you!

Over the term, students at Holy Rosary across different year levels will be involved in a number of liturgical and sacramental events as part of their faith journey. Please see below for key dates:

Confirmation Commitment Masses – Saturday 6:00pm & Sunday 10:00am
Students receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation will attend one of these parish Masses with their family member.

Confirmation Child/Parent Workshop – 4:30pm or 6:00pm in the Church
An important preparation session for candidates and their parents.

📅 Saturday 24th May
Sacrament of Confirmation Mass – 6:00pm
We keep our Year 6 Confirmation candidates in our prayers as they prepare to receive this sacred sacrament.
