Don't forget to lock up!
That's what I thought! But when you walk away from your laptop or panel without locking it, that's exactly what you're doing. To make it worse, not only can thieves steal your info, they can steal that of your students.
So...here's a gentle reminder to always lock your digital house when you leave. It's super-easy, easier even than locking your house! How?
Ctrl + L.

403 Error in itslearning Assignments
We began seeing an error in Assignments submitted in itslearning where students have attached a Google file to their response. The 403 error (seen below) makes it seem like there is a problem with your itslearning or your Google. Even worse, at first glance, it makes it seem that you can't see the file to assess student work.
NOT TO WORRY! You can see the file by clicking the button in the top right to open it in a new tab. I know, I hear you...not only is it two extra clicks per student, you also have the extra time of waiting for the file to load in a new tab. Unfortunately, that's the best I have right now.
On the plus side, itslearning has identified the issue and is including a fix in their update that is rolling out this weekend. Because it is a gradual release, it should get to us here in Forsyth around Tuesday-ish.
Ed Frameworks & Copyright Reminders
- As we gear up for end-of-the-semester review and testing, you may see teachers in your favorite online teacher groups share online tools that they swear by and you've never heard of. Before you dive in, remember to run it by Ed Frameworks to see if you need to get signed parent permission first. Check out the GIF below for a quick reminder/tutorial.
- As we approach prime movie showing season, be aware of the regulations regarding copyright and when an educational exemption applies. The short and sweet version is no, you can't legally stream it from Netflix, Disney+, or Amazon. That's not all of the intricacies, but that's the question I get asked most often. If you have other questions, reach out to your Media Specialist, ITS, or me!
