Construction Updates
As you may have noticed, our campus was a busy place with construction this summer. We are excited for our new tennis courts, a completely redone parking lot with bus loop, and multiple changes inside the building.
It's looking like most things will be ready to go for retuning to school. Construction will continue on parts of the campus throughout the year and over next summer. We expect the new entryway and visitor parking at Door 1 to be wrapped up in fall.
Welcome to our new Assistant Principal!
Please join us in giving a Bulldog welcome to our new Assistant Principal, Ms. Angela Carriero. She will be the new Assistant Principal for grades 8 & 9.
Congratulations to our former Assistant Principal Mr. Siddall. He is now the principal at Edison Elementary School. He will be missed, but if you have family attending Edison, make sure to say hello!
New Arrival Procedures
Our summer construction has allowed us to move buses off of Fries Rd into the new bus loop located on the south side of the building, by the new tennis courts. See below for new procedures for drop off and pick up.
Students arriving/dismissal via bus: Students utilizing buses for transportation will be dropped off in the new loop and will enter the building through Door 23.
Students arriving on foot, bicycle, or by private vehicle: Please use the entrances on Fries Rd. During the morning, doors 2 and 23 will be open for arrival. (Door 1 will be open once construction finishes). Students and families will not be allowed in the lot or to use any door other than those on Fries Rd.
Please take a moment to review safe procedures for arriving to Kenmore East:
- Private vehicles should use the southbound curb but on Fries Rd. to drop off students.
- Students must use the traffic signals at Brighton/Parker, Brighton/Fries, or Eggert/Fries to cross safely.
- An additional crosswalk is located at Fries/Wrexham.
- Please be mindful of the school zone speed limits on Fries Rd., and drive carefully as we all adjust to the new arrival procedures.
School Safety and Point of Entry
Our temporary visitor/late arrival point of entry will be Door 23 on Fries Rd.
The Raptor System and our visitor procedures will require all school visitors to provide a valid, government-issued ID. This system is designed to better protect our students, staff and visitors.
All visitors who are approved to enter the building during school hours will be issued a visitor pass, which must be displayed at all times while in the building.
Upon completion of the visit, the visitor must check out with and exit the building through the SPOE.
Our entry for evening and sporting events is Door 9 which now has more parking including handicapped parking.
Please see our District Emergency Information Guide for information about our procedures as well as what you can do before, during, and after emergency situations. Together we can all keep Kenmore East safe and prepared!
