🍽️ School Lunch Heroes: they serve more than just meals — they serve comfort, connection, and care.
🍎 This #SchoolLunchHeroDay, we honor the incredible Nutrition Services staff who are at the heart of our school communities. From the moment our students step into the cafeteria, these dedicated individuals offer more than nourishment — 🌟 they offer a sense of belonging and support. Their work fuels learning, lifts spirits, and creates a space where every student feels seen and ❤️ cared for.
🙌 School Lunch Heroes, your kindness, care, and commitment leave a lasting mark on our students and our schools. We are so grateful for you! 👏🏻

🍲 Empty Bowls: Lifting others up, one bowl at a time! 🍞
This video, produced by TVHS CTE Media Arts student Luna Meyers, captures the spirit of Empty Bowls—a community charity event where guests enjoy a simple meal of soup and bread, served in handcrafted bowls made by TVHS and CHS ceramics students. A $15 donation not only supports Mission Hope but allows each person to take home one of these unique bowls as a lasting reminder of those who face hunger every day.
🎥 Watch, share, and help spread awareness. Together, we can fill empty bowls.
🚴TVUSD is proud to launch the TVUSD Safe Rider Program Pilot!
Students at Vail Ranch Middle School completed their bike/e-bike safety course and received their official district registration sticker — giving them the green light to park on campus.
Huge thanks to our amazing partners: @RSO, @CityofTemecula, @BikeTemeculaValley, and @CaughtWithYourHelmetOn for supporting safer streets and smarter riders.
We’re excited to see how this program boosts e-bike/bike/scooter safety and keeps our students riding responsibly.

April Is National Donate Life Month. A Temecula teacher and her 8-year-old student rang the bell at Rady Children's Hospital one year after her living kidney donation.
TEMECULA, CA — Donating an organ, even one you can live without, is a big decision. For Temecula Special Education teacher Tiffany Minor, donating her kidney to a student in need was nothing but a "blessing," she said. "God had his hand on this; the odds of being a match are pretty low."
This week, Minor and the boy she donated her kidney to, James, along with others, celebrated their success as one of the 11 kidney transplant patients in 2024 at Rady Children's Hospital. She recalled the fall day in 2023 at Crowne Hill when she noticed James, who was not doing well at that time.
"I noticed him sitting on a beanbag, not really doing much. I said as much to his dad, and he told me he was really struggling. He was on dialysis," she said. "So I asked what I could do to look into becoming a donor and started on the path."
Minor spent the next five months learning how to become a living kidney donor for James, and if possible, she could be a match for him.
On Valentine's Day, 2024, she learned she was a match. The pair went into surgery two weeks later, on March 1, she said. Since that time, James has transformed into a happy, healthy boy.

The GOHS cybersecurity team had the honor of presenting their winning Cyber Cup trophy to the Mayor during the April 22nd City Council Meeting.
The future of cybersecurity is bright in Temecula!
On March 8th, TVUSD CTE students once again showcased their technical expertise and problem-solving skills at the Inland Empire Mayors Cyber Cup, sweeping the high school division and securing the championship in the middle school division.
GOHS secured both 1st and 3rd place, while TVHS claimed 2nd, completing a clean sweep for TVUSD in the high school competition. Their success ensures that the prestigious two-countywide trophy will remain in Temecula at City Hall for another year. Meanwhile, in the middle school division, BVMS captured 1st place.
This competition challenges students with real-world cybersecurity scenarios, testing their ability to analyze network traffic, assess web application vulnerabilities, decode encrypted messages, and even deconstruct software to identify security flaws. The event pushes participants to think critically and act decisively—essential skills in an increasingly digital world.
These victories are a testament to the dedication and talent of TVUSD’s young cyber defenders. As digital threats continue to evolve, these students are proving they have what it takes to tackle complex security challenges—not just in competition but in the future of cybersecurity itself.
Congratulations to all our Mayors Cup champions! Your hard work and innovation continue to make TVUSD proud.

All 3rd-8th and 11th graders will be participating in state testing in the coming weeks. School sites will communicate test schedules with parents via their regular school newsletters.
