Hello Levelland Lobos!
Levelland ISD has completed the first nine weeks of the school year and time continues to go by
quickly. We are forever thankful for all the staff members who put in numerous hours to
provide an education for our students. We are truly blessed to have such an amazing Levelland
ISD family.
With this being an election year, we are fortunate to live in America where we are given the
opportunity to cast our vote for what we believe in. I urge you to go vote. No matter who you
choose to vote for, your vote is important and it will count. As a society, we need to protect our
right to vote. Franklin D Roosevelt once said, “Nobody will ever deprive the American people of
the right to vote except the American people themselves and the only way they could do this is
by not voting”.
Levelland ISD will host our annual Veterans Day Program on Friday, November 11, 2024. The
program is led by our students and will be held at 1:30 pm in the Levelland Middle School
Auditorium. All veterans, family, friends, and community members are invited to attend. Please
join us in honoring our local brave heroes for the sacrifices they made to serve our country.
As always, thank you for your continued support of Levelland ISD and for helping us to Expect
Excellence in all that we do.
Have a great week!
Go Lobos!

All Things LISD..................
World Occupational Therapy Day
It's World Occupational Therapy Day, and we want to recognize our Amanda's! These two ladies provide treatment to disabled students. They also work with children with special needs or need help acquiring certain skills. Amanda Moore and Amanda Pinkston recommend equipment and classroom and home modifications necessary for kids to succeed. We thank these ladies for all they do to make our LISD students successful! If you see them on campus today, give them a high five!
Mr. Randol Gives us A Ray of Hope
LISD congratulates LMS educator Mr. Joshua Randol on publishing his first book! This is an exciting achievement for Mr. Randol, who teaches English Language Arts. He sets the perfect example for his students, leading them to be better writers and readers. This is Mr. Randol's first book, available in digital format at Amazon.com. It will be available in hard copy soon. It is titled "Lily and a Ray of Hope." This heartfelt story is about resilience, friendship, and finding light in the darkest places. As Lily opens up to new friendships and reconnects with those she thought she'd lost, she discovers that healing isn’t about erasing the past—it’s about learning to move forward with courage and hope. This book will help all readers with their emotional growth, self-discovery, and overcoming personal struggles. We all need a Ray of Hope and can get it by reading Mr. Randol's book! Congratulations, Mr. Randol! This is exciting!
Chevy Buick GMC Donation!
Levelland ISD sends out a huge thank you to Levelland Chevy Buick GMC for donating $1,000 to each of our ABC, Capitol & South campuses. We are so thankful for these Parent Club Presidents and all they do for our students. Receiving these Chevy Back To School donations makes our job just a little bit easier. Levelland Chevy Buick GMS, we appreciate your generosity!
LOC Enjoys Field Day!
Our LHS LOC educators share that our students enjoyed a great Field Day in Frenship recently. These students represented Levelland ISD in various activities and had lots of fun doing so! The LOC Department thanks all of their teachers, job coaches, and teaching assistants for the fun event. LOC also thanks the LISD transportation department for providing all the transportation to make this event happen! What a fun day!
Reading Pays....literally!
Last week we told you how the LMS readers were doing such a great job in their BeanStack Program, and today we share how they are being paid for reading. Yep, you heard right! LMS Librarian Mixie Clowe #expectsexcellence and awarded five students with gift cards for exceeding in the BeanStack Reading Program. Eddie Palomino, Myrcea Barber (not pictured), and Brian Ramirez were awarded gift cards for earning the most badges. Rose Whitmire earned the Best Book Reviews gift card. It was Jocelyn Arriaga's lucky day because she was the LMS Reader drawn from all the names of those who participated in reading the first nine weeks! Thank you, Mrs. Clowe, for igniting the spark of reading at LMS! We are excited for these readers! Great job, Mrs. Clowe and LMS Readers! Keep it up!
Where the Wild Things Are
It's October, so things are getting spooky, especially at the Levelland ABC Library. Students experienced the book, "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak before they read in the dark, using flashlights. This activity is great on so many levels. Librarian Abi Swain #expectsexcellence is promoting reading and the love of books while also engaging their senses and developing their sensory skills. We love these positive interactions with books! Thank you, Mrs. Swain.
Ride With Rotary
It pays in so many ways to attend school every day. These lucky students were drawn to win a new bicycle for attending school every day all day in the first nine weeks. We send out a huge thank you to our Breakfast Rotarians. Each year, the Breakfast Rotarians host the Ride with Rotary Program for Capitol & South Elementary students with perfect attendance. Students attending school every day all day are put in the drawing. The new nine weeks started again Tuesday and we can't wait to see the bikes the Rotarians bring at the end of the nine weeks! Thank you so much Breakfast Rotarians for supporting LISD students!
Pumpkin Contest
South Elementary rewarded several pumpkin contest winners today. The South Parent Club provided pumpkins to every student, and there were so many creative, scary, fun, characteristic, and tasty ideas made from pumpkins. We send out a huge thank you to Levelland Chevrolet, Buick, GMC for coming to judge the contest. Congratulations to all these winners.
Veteran's Day Celebration.....
You are invited to our Veteran's Day Celebration. We want to honor Veteran's and those serving next month on November 11th @ 1:30 pm in the LMS Auditorium. There are many students performing and you may want to see that. The featured speaker is Katherine McLamore Lowrance. She is the Co-Author of Texas South Plains War Stories: Interviews with Veterans from WWII to Afghanistan. She should be very interesting and bring some great thoughts to the table.
