Assessment Update
Tuesday, April 9 is ACT day - No school for students in grades 9, 10, and 12.
All Central High juniors will participate in state testing on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 (ACT or NSCAS-Alternate). Only 11th grade students will be in attendance on Tuesday.
The ACT takes over four hours and requires an environment with no distractions. To facilitate the required testing environment, students in grades 9, 10, and 12 will not have school.
Attendance is critical on this day. Breakfast and lunch will be served. Buses will arrive at the standard 3:05 p.m. dismissal.
Students who have taken the ACT in the past are still required to participate in this state administration.
All Central High students have access to ACT preparation resources at http://onlineprep.act.org. They login with their OPS email address. Their password is their student number.
Thank you for your continued efforts to assist students in preparing for the ACT on Tuesday, April 9, and good luck to our juniors!
MTSS-B
Each Monday during Eagle Time students receive a lesson on various behavior expectations. On April 1st students learned about "Operation Get to Class". The lesson reviews the importance of being in class, what it means to be out of area as well as the consequences. During 4th quarter, there will be an increased effort by staff to help get students to class. Attached is the lesson for you to review and support our efforts in ensuring student are in class and learning.

Freshman Academy
Freshman Academy Adventures
There are only seven weeks left in our Freshman's first year of high school and it has been a wonderful year! The Freshman class of 2027 has shown tremendous growth and maturity, and we could not be prouder of the students we have the privilege of working with every day. On April 2nd, we attended Flip Fabrique: Blizzard at The Orpheum and had an interesting and fun time! Upcoming in May, we have four exciting trips to the University of Nebraska Omaha for campus scavenger hunts for the whole Freshman class, and one lucky group will return for a tour of The Undesign the Redline Exhibit. Our Omaha community has been so welcoming to us on all of our adventures this year! We are will never forget our inspiring night at The Lion King on March 19th, and we are all so grateful to The Central High School Foundation and OPA who made it possible with their generosity! It was a truly a magical experience for us!
