Message From the Principal
On Friday students will be working on their Individual Plans of Study. They will create a portfolio through Xello which helps them with different career matching based on their interests. Students will work on setting goals as well as research different careers that interest them. Students will go over these portfolios with their parents and advisory teachers during our student led conferences in February.
Over the weekend take some time to talk with your students about your career and the path you took to get where you are. I have included links to more information on the Individual Plans of Study as well as the 16 Career clusters so you can start having more conversations with your students.
This link is also a great one for exploring careers - hire paths
Please help us by having a conversation with your child about not taking or touching things that do not belong to them. We have had some students have things come missing from their backpacks, sounds like there is a bit of a game going on trying to take things from people when they aren't looking. Teachers have had conversations with students at school, if you could help reinforce this that would be appreciated!

Career Fair:
We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a Career Fair on Friday, January 17, 2025. This event will provide our students with the opportunity to explore a variety of career paths, hear from professionals in different fields, and get inspired for their future.
We’re inviting parents, guardians, and community members to participate by representing their careers at the fair. Please take a few moments to fill out this form if you are interested in representing your career on this day.

CharacterStrong:
We had a wonderful time celebrating Kindness Week last week! Our Leadership class organized a variety of activities that helped spread kindness throughout our entire school. It was a great opportunity for students to reflect on the importance of kindness and how we can all contribute to a positive school community. We look forward to continuing these important conversations about kindness and anti-bullying through our Character Strong lessons.
Our Character dare for the upcoming week is: Challenge yourself to meet two people you don’t know in the Cafeteria this week. It could be a staff member or a student. Learn their name and use it the next day.
The CharacterDare is described as a workout for our hearts and enables us to actively practice and enhance skills such as kindness, patience, and respect.
