Hello Readers!
Libraries have been getting a lot of attention lately, which has me thinking about all of the little ways a library can enhance a community. I feel incredibly lucky to have a front row seat to these opportunities. I'll be sharing these glimmers of positivity in the next few months, because frankly, it's too selfish of me to keep them to myself!
Libraries provide opportunities for leadership! Our Tween and Teen Advisory Boards give power youth by allowing them direct influence on upcoming programs. We can hash out ideas and get input on how kids and teen view the library. In addition, they meet kids of other ages and from other methods of schooling. Oh, and they usually like the snacks too!
If you have an 8-12 year old that would like to try out a leadership experience, TWAB (Tween Advisory Board) meets today from 4:30-5:30! We just meet 4 times per year.
Registration for our programs are found here!
Yours in literacy and life,
Renee Bowman

Friends of the Library
All of our events are made possible through the generosity of the Friends of the Library. The Friends of the Library was founded to support the Danville Public Library in various ways. They sponsor all library programs as well as help buy the supplies/equipment needed for programs through membership dues and fundraising activities. We are always looking for more members! If you are interested in becoming a member of the Friends of the Library, please visit our website here for more information.
