Principal Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Our first five day week of the school year has now concluded and can be deemed a success. Students are getting used to their new routines and setting in nicely.
We had our Welcome Back BBQ on Wednesday night and it was great to see so many of our families come and meet, or see again the amazing staff of Wildwood School. I have not included any pictures as I was busy on the grill all night!
Many students also started their Alberta Education Screening tests this week, and I am happy to report that as a school we are roughly 80% done thanks to the hard work of all involved including our students.
This upcoming week our school will be participating in Terry Fox run on Friday starting at 2:00pm. Parents/guardians are welcome to join.
A few quick reminders;
- If dropping off students please park along 54 Ave or in front of the maintenance shop, please do not drop off along the main road.
- Also please watch your speed passing by the schools, student movements can be unpredictable.
- If your student rides a bike to school please remind them that they should walk it across the crosswalks and to the bike rack.
- Our JK Program starts on September 24th. Please check your email for a more complete message. It is also not too late to enroll
If you have any questions or concerns you can always reach out to the school through the office or email me at alanstoy@gypsd.ca
Sincerely,
Alan Stoyles
Principal

Sept 24, 2024 will be the first day of Jr Kindergarten. At 8:45am students will meet Mrs. Hicks outside the school at the Northwest entrance. This is where you will drop off your child at 8:45am and pick up at 12:15pm every Tuesday and Thursday.
On the first day you are welcome to walk with your child to class as they may be a bit nervous.
We ask that each student brings the following:
-lunch and snack
-non-breakable water bottle
-inside shoes (to be kept at school)
-extra underwear, socks, pants and shirt (in plastic bag and to be kept at school)
-weather appropriate outside wear (outside recesses in the morning)
On the first day of school, Mrs. Hicks will have an information package which has a few forms that will need to be filled out and returned at pick up.
