Family-School Collaboration
We value the partnership we have with our students' families. Here are few ways that you can help students' day go smoother.
REPORTING ABSENCES
Washington Tech uses robocalls to communicate student absences with families. If your student will miss school, please report absences by 11:00 to ensure that you do not receive unnecessary calls.
To report an absence:
Leave a voicemail at 651-325-2437 or email ahmil.jhad@spps.org the day your student will miss. If your student will miss multiple days, please call each morning.
Upon return after an absence:
Send a doctor's note or note from parent with your student to Mr. Jihad for the days that were missed.
Your help is integral to ensuring that attendance records are accurate.
FOOD DELIVERIES
Our school does not have a system in place that allows students to safely receive food deliveries: We cannot allow delivery drivers to enter the building during the school day. Nor can we allow students to leave the building to recieve deliveries..
Students cannot receive Door Dash , Grub Hub or other third-party food deliveries during the school day. Parents may drop off food at the first floor office during students' assigned lunch period.
Thank you for helping us keep our students safe.
AFTER SCHOOL DETENTIONS
After school detentions are part of our school's discipline process. If a detention is issued, parents will receive a phone call to inform them and schedule a date that accommodate's students' and families' schedules.
All detentions are assigned from 3:05- 3:40 pm, Mondays-Thursdays.
Students and families are responsible for providing transportation home after the detention is served.

News from the Health Office
Does your student have a dentist that they see regularly?
Children's Dental Services is a full service dental provider that provides dental care in the school. If your student does not have a regular dentist, please have them come to the school Health Office for a parental consent form (or use one of the attached forms) for Children's Dental Services. We have forms in English, Spanish, Hmong, Somali, and Karen. This is not a free service; they take most forms of insurance and they have a sliding scale discount for families that are not eligible for Medical Assistance.
