A Sweet Treat
Mayor Tracy Kallert and the Borough Council, the Recreation Department, and the Alfred Baumann Library hosted a fun Kindergarten Ice Cream Social on Sept. 5 at Charles Olbon School to welcome the new kindergartners and their families to the school community. The children heard a story, and enjoyed some ice cream, and each student in attendance was provided with a book to take home. The kids had a great time!
Getting Started
Mrs. D’Amico and Mrs. Davidson’s first grade class at Charles Olbon School have gotten the year underway with Fundations. The students are working on reviewing letter-keyword-sound recognition as well as forming and writing letters correctly. They are off to a great start!
Write The Room
Students in Ms. Gutierrez's third grade class at Beatrice Gilmore School started the new school year by refreshing their brains while engaging in a fun "Write the Room" math activity. It was a fantastic way to combine movement and learning!
Great Teamwork
During free choice on Wednesday in Ms. Wittig's PreK-4 class at School 1, these boys classified animals in the Block Center by their habitat: water, jungle, farm, etc. They showed great initiative and cooperation working diligently and were proud to show their work.
Never Forget
Members of Brownie Troop 97702, Cub Scout Pack 31, and Boy Scout Troop 238 lent a hand at the Borough's annual 9/11 Remembrance Wednesday evening by passing out programs. They also sang "America the Beautiful" and "God Bless America.”
Showing Pride
In honor of Sept. 11, our teachers and staff members wore red, white, and blue to show their support and pride for our country. Shown are Supervisor of Language Arts Mrs. Krasnomowitz and Beatrice Gilmore School Principal Ms. Mastropaolo.
PreK Double Giveback
Save the date of Sept. 19 for a double giveback day to benefit the Woodland Park PreK Home & School Association. Stop by Pizza City and/or Carvel and mention the giveback and a portion of sales will benefit the students.
