D93 Family Update

Thank You for All Your Support This Year
As we wrap up the school year, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to you—our parents, guardians, and families—for the incredible support you’ve shown to our teachers, staff, and students throughout the year.
Your involvement, encouragement, and partnership have been essential to our shared success. Whether attending school events, helping with homework, communicating with teachers, or simply cheering from the sidelines, you’ve played a vital role in helping our students thrive.
Together, we’ve built a strong foundation rooted in the values that define D93: integrity, teamwork, positivity, and learning. We are grateful for the trust you place in us and for walking alongside us in this important work.
Thank you for being part of our D93 community. We wish you and your family a joyful and restful summer!
—Dr. Scott Woolstenhulme
Superintendent, Bonneville Joint School District No. 93
Thank You for Your Feedback
Thank you to all the parents who took the time to complete our recent engagement survey. Your feedback is essential in helping us understand what we’re doing well and where we need to improve.
Thanks to your input, we’re encouraged to see continued progress in key areas such as building trust, improving communication with families, and demonstrating responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources.
One especially important measure for us is whether families would recommend enrolling in D93 schools to their friends and loved ones. This year, we saw significant gains in that area, reflecting a growing confidence in the work our educators and staff are doing every day.
We’re grateful for your partnership and proud of the momentum we’re building together.

From Kindergarten to Cap and Gown: Senior Graduation Walk
On Tuesday, May 27th at 8:30 a.m. at all the elementary schools, our graduating seniors will return to their elementary schools one last time—not as students, but as role models. The annual Graduation Walk is a heartfelt tradition that gives our seniors the chance to reflect on how far they’ve come, from those first wobbly steps into kindergarten classrooms to the confident strides they're now taking toward the future. It’s a full-circle moment—one that reminds us all of the growth, learning, and experiences that have shaped their journey. As they walk the halls that started it all, we celebrate not only where they’re going, but everything it took to get there.
Note: White Pine Charter School will be having their senior walk on Thursday, May 29th at 8:30 a.m. If you have any questions about this senior walk, please contact White Pine Charter School.

Help Your Child Beat the Summer Slide with Reading!
Summer is a time for fun and relaxation—but without regular reading, many students can experience the "summer slide," a decline in reading and literacy skills over the break. The good news? Just 20 minutes of reading a day can make a big difference!
Here are a few simple ways parents can help:
-
Set a summer reading routine—before bed, during lunch, or in the car
-
Let kids choose books that match their interests—graphic novels, mysteries, non-fiction, even joke books!
-
Visit the library together and explore summer reading programs or book clubs
-
Read together as a family—take turns, ask questions, and talk about the story
-
Keep books accessible—place them in every room, in the car, or packed in a beach bag
A love of reading starts at home, and summer is the perfect time to explore new stories, spark curiosity, and keep those literacy skills strong. Happy reading!

A Moment to Remember at the Sixth Grade Track Meet
This week brought so many unforgettable moments, but one truly stood out. Owen Hansen stole the show at the south side sixth grade track meet at Thunder Ridge! Owen powered through the final stretch of the relay in his wheelchair, and the entire crowd rose to their feet, cheering him on. It was a powerful reminder of perseverance, school spirit, and the incredible support within our D93 community.
