The News
I'm sure you've noticed that there is a very important election coming up on Tuesday. We are asking you one last time to consider voting YES on Amendment 1 on the back of the ballot. This amendment directly affects the future financial conditions of the Franklin County School System. There is more information down below in the newsletter. Thank you for your kind consideration!
Thank You Evelyn Scott! Retired PCHS teacher Evelyn Scott cooked a great meal for our staff last week. We enjoyed taco soup and some delicious deserts.
FTA Teacher of the Month: Congratulations to Mr. Brett Fish on being selected as the Teacher of the Month the students in the Future Teachers of America club. Mr. Fish teaches 9th & 10th grade English.
Senior Pep Rally: We held our last pep rally of the football season on Friday. This is always reserved for the Seniors and their slideshow. While there is still several months to go in the school year, there are plenty of last moments for this class and this is always one of the big ones.
Titan Up Tennessee Titans Trip: Several students made a trip to Nashville, Tennessee on Tuesday to Nissan Stadium as part of the Tennessee Titans Learning Lab. These students got to tour the stadium and locker room and hear from employees of the Titans on the different jobs in the sports industry.
Making Good Decisions: We appreciate former Franklin County District Attorney Joey Rushing stopping by to speak to our students on the importance of making good decisions while in school and the consequences for not making good decisions.
Happy Halloween: Thursday several of our high school students gathered at the elementary school for Truck or Treat to help our little Bobcats celebrate Halloween with plenty of candy!
Mean Girls?: Our new Drama Club will be putting on a junior version of the production of Mean Girls. We encourage any of our students who have a talent for singing and acting or want to step out of their comfort zone to audition for parts in this musical.
Football: Congratulations to our football team on their season-ending win over Red Bay 64-22. The 64 points was a school record for points in a game. Our football team ended the season 4-6 despite losing several starters to injuries and playing in a tough region.
Congratulations to Hayden Wingo on his second Athlete of the Week honor from a local newspaper and the fourth of the year for our school (Hayston Scott- Football; Britney Coffman- Volleyball). Wingo rushed for 339 yards on 12 carries and scored three touchdowns in our 57-22 win at Hanceville last Friday. Wingo also eclipsed the 1000 yard rushing mark.
Cross Country: Congratulations to Avery Wells on finishing fifth in the Class 3A Sectional meet. Avery qualified for the state meet running a personal best of 22:59.
Basketball: JH girls beat Sheffield on Monday night 28-19. The JH girls also got off to a great start in the Red Bay tipoff tournament beating Russellville and Haleyville. They will play in the finals on Tuesday night.
Have A Great Week!
