Oct. 7th-9th: District Assessments for 3rd, 4th, and 5th Graders
Students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade will take District Assessments the mornings of October 7th, 8th, and 9th. Please make sure students are on time to school and try to schedule absences or appointments around these testing dates. Students perform better when testing with their teacher in a familiar environment, as opposed to a make-up group with a different teacher and classroom.
Oct. 10th-14th: Fall Break
After District Assessments, it'll be time for a little rest and relaxation. Fall Break is October 10th-14th and GCPS schools will be closed. Students return to school on Tuesday, October 15th.
A Note From Our Principal, Mrs. Holmes
We are off to a great new year and have a ton of fun happening! You should have received field trip permission slip forms from your kiddos. We are excited to see the Atlanta Gladiators at the Gwinnett Arena. This will be a fun time for everyone!
- Students in grades 3-5 and our self-contained units will see the Gladiators on November 14th.
- Students in kindergarten through 2nd grade will see the Gladiators on March 26th.
I also want to do a HUGE bash for the students at the end of the year. We have wonderful students, and I would like to celebrate those who have excellent behavior with an end of the year party. To make this possible, the school will participate in a fundraiser. Fundraiser packets are going home today! You can order online and have items shipped directly to your house or order through the order form and pick up your materials during early release conferences. Conference sign-ups will go live next week, so be on the lookout.
Thank you for supporting our students!

📢 Attendance Awareness 📢
We need your help! Excuse notes are important. The following link is an excuse note found on our website. Feel free to use it, your own personal note, a doctor's note, or to notify your student's teacher through parent square. The important thing is that we receive communication so that the absence is documented appropriately.

Please alert us if you need support getting your child(ren) to school on time and regularly.
Thank you!

Reminder: SEL Newsletter
This month, we focus on Respect! Take a look at our Respect newsletter here.
This month’s focus is Respect. One way to think about Respect is “seeing value in all people and things & treating them with care.” Many people feel Respected in different ways and we hope this month inspires discussions with your family about what Respect means to you and how you can practice it together!
Complete Your Free or Reduced Lunch Application!
If you have not completed your Free or Reduced Lunch Application, you can do that here. Students much reapply each year in order to receive reduced lunch prices.
Respect sets the stage for learning!
Healthy respect for people is an important ingredient in a productive learning environment. Teach your child that common courtesies (like saying "thank you" and "excuse me") and being honest are important ways of showing respect. Listening to other people's views and accepting their differences is another. Model respectful behavior, and offer praise when you see your child being courteous and respectful. Learn more here!
