Le Carnaval de Camille
Carnaval de Camille is coming! We are very excited to have plans in place for lots of winter and culture-themed activities for all grades next week. Please ensure that your child comes to school with appropriate outdoor clothing and boots, as we will be spending more than the usual amount of time outside.
If you are able to help out on either Tuesday or Wednesday, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

Last Week
Cold Weather
Our students go out for recess in all types of weather. During the winter time all students go outside,for a portion of the recess break, when the temperatures are warmer than -25, with the wind chill, according to the Weather Network website. Shorter periods of time outside will occur when the weather is quite cold but it is expected that all students dress appropriately for weather conditions. Please mark items such as snow boots, running shoes, mittens, toques are labelled.
Skating Rink
Skating started last week. Teachers will send out the schedule for skating. As we enter the season of skating, please remember these Alberta Safety Guidelines.
All players must wear a CSA approved hockey helmet (as per page 122 in Safety Guidelines for Physical Activity in Alberta Schools) Skateboarding, snowboarding and cycling helmets are not CSA approved for skating.
Parent Teacher Interviews
Take a note, Parents Teacher is coming. Parents Teacher interview will March 19 & 20. You will receive more information soon.
Athletics
Basketball
We are nearly done with our basketball season as junior playoffs will start at the beginning of March.
Knights of Columbus Basketball Free Throw on March 1st
The Knights of Columbus is hosting a free throw competition held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 - Please see the poster and link for registration.
Badminton
Badminton season will begin shortly after basketball. Grades 6-9 will have competitive teams and grades 7-9 will move on to the CWAJHAA tournament if they qualify. Stay tuned!
Ski Club
The ECJL Ski Club will be skiing at Canyon Ski Area from 4:30 - 8:30 pm on the following nights:
Thursday March 6, 2025
Transportation will ONLY be provided to the hill. A school bus will be leaving the school at 4:00 pm. Parents are responsible to pick up their child at the hill by 8:45pm. Any other arrangements MUST be communicated to M. Corbière or M. Pelletier by a written note or email a few days prior to the outing.

We are still missing 30 forms. If you need help please call the office. We will help you.
According to Alberta Education, this is a legal document and is required to be revised every school year. Please check your inbox and your spam mail and take the time to go on to Power School and review your child's form. If you have changes to your address, phone number, email address, etc. They need to be made on the Student Information Update Form ASAP.

School staff may also continue to fill out the form with permission from families.
