CAPS LOCK matters when it comes to scanners :)
Did you know that the CAPS LOCK keyboard button affects your barcode scanner? If you are scanning an item and the system says the item is not found, try turning off your Caps Lock to see if that helps.
If that doesn't work, take a look at what your eye can read from the barcode, and whether the scanner picked up the same thing, or something different. Feel free to reach out to Karin in SLS, who will give you some pointers of things to try (and advice on good replacements if it's time for the scanner to retire.)
Where can I find webinar recordings?
1. If the webinar is run by SLS, register so that we can send you the recording. You can also look for webinar recordings on our LibGuides.
2. If the webinar is run by TLC (such as "Training Tuesdays"), register for webinars so they can send them to you directly. TLC also places their webinar recordings in LS Community. Log into LS Community and go to Training-->Training Webinars-->Recordings.
Please cancel old ILL requests to clear them out
If you initiated an ILL request, and it's been sitting there for a long time...or the responding librarian says they can't fill it...or you already borrowed, sent it back, and the sending librarian says the system wants to put it in transit again...please delete the request (this is on the requester's end). If you're not sure how, ask Karin for help.
Note that the red circle currently only cancels the request on the requester's end. If you are on the responder's end, that red circle only removes it from your view, and does not cancel the request. Fingers crossed the cancel button shows up soon!
