This Week at Windsor...
#WEAREWINDSOR
October 27th, 2023
Windsor Families,
I hope you have a great weekend.
Please read this very important information about arrival and dismissal on Windsor Drive:
Arrival:
Please do not park on Windsor Drive. Windsor Drive is drop and go in the mornings. Please pull up as far as you can and let your child out of the car. This may mean that your child needs to walk down the sidewalk to their door to enter school. We have supervision outside to ensure that children enter the building safely. On cold and wet days, we have an increase in traffic so it is imperative that you follow these procedures to keep the Miner/Windsor intersection clear and the car line moving.
Dismissal:
Please do not double park on Windsor Drive. It is not safe to have children crossing in front of a car to get into your car. This also holds up traffic on Windsor Drive. If you cannot pull into a spot along the curb, please circle back around until you can.
Last week you received a special edition newsletter about Halloween. We still have families that have not completed this form.
If you have not completed this form, please complete one form for each child at Windsor School prior to Halloween: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd8H6JItaAjsa_L8XKeFi3-LyvrA0Ccg6rKpKx3JkCQ_KfAhg/viewform?usp=sf_link
Have a wonderful wildcat weekend,
Mrs. Anastacio and Mrs. Soprano
Important upcoming events:
October 30th - November 3rd- Spirit Week
Tuesday, October 31st- Halloween Parade and Parties
November 6th-10th- Pack the Piggies Fun-Raiser (see below for more info)
Pack the Piggies
Are you ready to Pack the Piggies? The Arlington Heights Council of PTA’s (AHC-PTA) funds $10k worth of scholarships each year. Over the last 50 years, the AHC-PTA has given over $500,000.00 in scholarship money away! The scholarships are divided into $9k for graduating D214 seniors, and $1k given to D25 elementary students for the AHPD. The last two years of doing our “Pack the Piggies” fun-raisers, we collected almost $20k in scholarship money! We are about to embark on our third annual contest!
The contest begins November 6th through November 10th. Each school will have a goal of raising $1k, with the district goal being $9k. If the school’s goal and district goals are attained, that school will win its predetermined prize chosen by the principal. Some schools will silly string or slime a staff member, while another school’s prize will be to have the principals kissing real live pigs! Please help your students reach their goal by having them bring in coins, cash, or checks(made out to the AHC-PTA) to pack their school’s piggy! Let’s have some fun for a great cause!

Absences/Tardies:
Please also make every effort for your child to arrive at school on time. Missing the beginning of the school day often has a negative impact on students for the rest of the day. Please contact the office if your child will be tardy or needs to leave early!
Student Health: If your child has tested positive for COVID-19, you can notify the school nurse for guidance regarding how many days it is recommended to stay home (5 days with day 0 as onset of symptoms or test day if asymptomatic) per Illinois Department of Public Health.
