Year at a Glance
No School Tomorrow (November 1st)
Next week is a "short week" for students in that Friday November 1st is a non-student day. With that said, we have an action-packed, fun-filled spirit week planned for each day next week (see below)!
Join Us for Dia De Los Muertos Tomorrow (Friday)
Please join us for the Dia de Los Muertos celebration happening tomorrow, November 1st, at 836 Olive Ave, Vista. There will be tons of activities for children, snacks, live performances, and community partners in attendance. We are particularly excited to see the MVHS Ballet Folklorico group performing for the audience!
Attendance for Seniors on November 4th
It has been brought to our attention that some of our seniors may be planning a “Senior Ditch Day” Monday, November 4th. Obviously, Mission Vista High School does not condone a Senior Ditch Day; students who are absent without a valid, legal excuse that is recognized by California Educational Code are not entitled to make-up work opportunities in their classes. Attendance in school is one of the top predictors of student success, and we expect students to attend school every day that they are physically able to do so.
Thank you, and we hope to see all of our seniors on campus Monday..
Students: Bring ID Cards to Speed-up Lunch Service!
In an effort to expedite lunch service, we are asking all students to present their ID cards in the lunch lines. Our Child Nutrition Services (lunch service staff) have ID card scanners, which expedite each meal served by about 10-15 seconds vs. manually entering in student ID numbers into our system.
Need a new ID card? Visit Mrs. Ghosh in the main office for more details. Do your part, and help us to cut down wait times in line for lunch service!

Anonymous Tip Reporting: If You See Something, Say Something
MVHS, along with all other Vista Unified schools have an anonymous tip line (see the button below) where all stakeholders (students, parents, staff, community members) can report dangerous behaviors on, around, or related to our campus. Tips reported are completely anonymous (unless the user shares his/her name), and VUSD and MVHS administrators are alerted immediately. In order to keep our school community safe, we ask all stakeholders that if they see something, say something, and the tip line is just one of many ways to do that.

Interested in a Career in the Military?
Consider taking the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) exam.
The ASVAB exam measures your abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. Taking the ASVAB does not guarantee or require commitment to enter the military. It can be a helpful tool for students to learn more about career exploration and planning in both the civilian and military worlds of work.
For more information about the exam, view What to Expect When You Take the ASVAB and the ASVAB Fact Sheet.
Complete the ASVAB Interest form here.
