BFH Falcons' View
May 6 to 10, 2024
Principal's Message
Dear Falcon students and families,
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and recovered from all of the snow that fell at the start of May! This past week saw our Handball teams close out their seasons and our Sr. Badminton Doubles boys team compete at Provincials. I also was lucky enough to take in both casts of our amazing drama production of the Lost Boy. We have so many students to be proud of at Facey. Our students in Culinary and Cosmetology are preparing intently for SKILLS Alberta Provincials this upcoming week, and we are excited for our Artists who were featured in this past weekend's Strathcona Art Show.
Coming up this week, we will see our AP students write their first round of AP exams. We will also be holding our annual Bev Facey Plant Sale on May 9 and 10, just in time for Mother's Day! Our Sr. Boys and Girls Soccer teams will be in full swing, and our Track athletes will be competing at their first Metro meet.
I encourage parents to get involved with our amazing school council staff recognition initiative, coming up on June 5, 2024. They are planning a barbecue for staff at the school as a gesture of appreciation. Please check out the information on how to get involved by volunteering or contributing below.
I hope you all have an awesome week and, as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Bev Facey School Council Staff Appreciation Event 2024
Bev Facey School Council Staff Appreciation Event 2024
Dear Parents & Guardians,
On Wednesday June 5, 2024, Bev Facey School Council is hosting our Staff Appreciation event. This has historically been an annual event, and this year our school council will be continuing to do so. It's a great opportunity for our Facey families to recognize ALL staff for their work, care and dedication to our children, and we know that many families would like to contribute to the success of this event.
Historically, Staff Appreciation has included a luncheon of donated food items to be enjoyed at the final staff meeting of the school year. As well, in the past there have been donations of items used as door prizes. This year we are happy to report that we will be putting on a BBQ for the staff after the staff meeting on Wednesday, June 5.
We will be accepting monetary donations which Pam Smith (our School Council Staff Appreciation Leader) will use to purchase food items for the BBQ. If you are interested in making a donation, gift cards and monies will be gratefully accepted in the front office. If you place it in an envelope with your email address, I can send you an email confirmation of receipt of your donation. As well we can accept e-transfers to pammysmith94@gmail.com and send confirmation. Please make a note in your e-transfer that it is for Staff Appreciation and include your first and last name. Any questions please reach out to Pam Smith.
If you would like to be a part of this wonderful day and help volunteer or to work along side with Pam to learn the process, please email Pam Smith for more information on how you can help.
