Student Spotlight
During the month of December, Insight PA 11th grader Anthony V. spread holiday cheer throughout the city of Philadelphia. Through his Operation Santa Stocking, along with the support of generous donors, Anthony distributed toys and gifts to children around the city while dressed as Santa!
Here's what Anthony shared with us -
"It truly is a blessing to be involved in this nonprofit, which I founded alongside my brother. This cause is incredibly close to my heart. Giving back has been a lifelong passion of mine and I am committed to doing so every day, especially during the holiday season when many individuals in our community are in need.
My goal is to enhance the holiday experience for those who may not have access to essential resources, creating a season filled with warmth, joy, and the true spirit of giving. Many people face challenges such as addiction, lack of family support, or financial difficulties, which can make the holidays particularly tough. This operation aims to ease some of those burdens."

MTSS Updates - Screenings Next Week
We will be conducting our second round of Reading, Math, and Social-Emotional Learning and Functional Behaviors (SEL+F) benchmarking starting the week of January 13th. During this time, you may notice a temporary change to your student’s schedule as we administer these assessments.
What Will Happen Next Week:
- Students will be participating in assessments in English and Math and completing the SEL+F Survey.
- This will be a great opportunity to track individual progress and identify areas where additional support may be beneficial.
- Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities during this time – adding a fun and engaging way to connect with peers!
Why Benchmarking Matters - These benchmark assessments help your students directly by providing us with data that allows us to:
- Monitor each student’s academic and SEL+F progress.
- Determine the types of support or interventions needed to help students achieve their goals.
- Plan instruction and SEL +F (Social Emotional Learning and Functional Behavior) tailored to individual needs.
After testing is complete, we will analyze the data and use these insights to continue supporting all students in their learning journey.
What is MTSS?
At Insight PA, we use a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Framework to help our students develop skills in three key areas - Attendance, Social-Emotional Learning & Functional Behaviors (SEL+F), and Academics.
All students at Insight PA receive tiered levels of support based on the results of screening data/procedures completed throughout the school year.

Focus on Federal Programs
What is Title I?
Title I, Part A of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), is a federal program that provides financial assistance to schools. This funding is used to provide additional academic support and learning opportunities for students at schools with high percentages of economically disadvantaged children. The program is intended to help ensure that all students meet or exceed challenging state academic standards.
The goals of Title I are to:
- Increase academic achievement
- Provide direct instructional support to students
- Provide professional development for teachers
- Promote parent and family education and engagement
Parent and Family Engagement
Insight PA believes that Parent and Family Engagement is of paramount importance to student success. Every Title I school, in collaboration with parents, must prepare a school level Parent and Family Engagement policy. The Parent and Family Engagement Policy describes how the school will involve families in an organized, ongoing, and timely way, in the planning, review, and improvement of the Title I program at their school.
Right to Know
This letter lets you know about your right to request information about the qualifications of classroom staff working with your child and information about student assessments given during the school year.
