Pi Day Kahoot
Excited for a fun day full of Pi! Learn about the number Pi through a series of activities including Kahoots, pie eating, and special prizes! Prizes will be available for winners of the activities. All participants are encouraged to bring pie if they would like, though it is entirely optional and snacks will be provided. We hope to see you for a fun day!

UCSD eSports Mentorship: Continuing the Journey
March 14: Game-Life Balance – Health & Self-Care
Students will explore how to maintain a healthy balance between gaming, academics, and personal well-being. This session will focus on time management, physical and mental wellness, and the importance of setting boundaries in digital spaces.
March 21: Positive Gamer Traits & Team Building Tactics
This session will highlight the positive traits that gaming can foster—such as leadership, communication, and resilience—while also offering practical strategies for effective teamwork and collaboration in competitive environments.
This ongoing mentorship program is a unique opportunity that bridges education, digital citizenship, and personal development in a fun and engaging setting. Open to all MEA students in grades 6 and up, participants can join either virtually or in person.

MEA Online Auction Starts Now
MEA Online Auction starts now
Our MEA Online Auction starts now and closes Friday, March 14th between 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm. It is an eBay style auction of goods and services that have been donated by businesses and individuals to help us raise money for our school. Some items will be at the Talent Show and all items will be accepting bids. Check back often. New Items are added daily!!!
Families, friends and the general public can shop online and get some great deals. Share the link, the more bidding the more funds generated to benefit all students at Mt. Everest Academy!

Volunteer Opportunity: Beach Cleanup at Scripps Pier!
Join MEA students for a beach cleanup at and north of Scripps Pier in La Jolla, organized by the Environmental Alliance Club and German 5-6 students.

LEGO Derby
🚗💨 Rev up your creativity and get ready to race! 💨🚗
The Engineering Club is thrilled to invite all students to the ultimate Lego Derby on Wednesday, March 19, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the auditorium, alongside the Science Fair!
🏆 Prizes await! Compete for the fastest car or impress with the most creative design!
You’ll have the chance to build, customize, and race your own Lego car on a specially designed track that our club has been crafting just for this event. This is your moment to show off your engineering skills, push the limits of speed, and let your imagination run wild!

MEA's Enchanted Forest Prom
All high school students are welcome to the MEA's 2025 Prom! Save the date for May 9th and grab your tickets now! Each MEA student can bring one guest who is not from MEA, and you can buy a ticket for your guest at the same time you buy your own. Your guest will need to fill out their own permission form, which you can get from the office. If you need help with ticket costs, scholarships are available—just ask an MEA staff member for details.
How to buy tickets:
Tickets are only available online—no cash accepted. You can sign in to your SchoolCash Online account or use the QR code to buy tickets for yourself and your guest. The tickets will be linked to the student’s name. Please note that all tickets are non-refundable, so keep your receipt to show at the door; a screenshot of the ticket is fine too. Please note that ticket prices will increase as we get closer to the event. Here are the prices:
- $60 until March 28
- $65 from March 29 to May 2
- $70 from May 3 to May 8
No tickets will be available after midnight on May 8.

It is time for students in grades 5-11 to plan their classes for the next school year!
Current 8th-11th Graders (Class of 2026-2029)
All current 8th -11th graders must either make an appointment (in person or online) to meet with Mr. Rubin or email course requests (arubin@sandi.net). Please reserve a conference time at this link to discuss courses for next year, graduation and college entrance requirements, and community college courses.
During their articulation meeting, incoming 9th graders and their parents can meet with Mr. Rubin to discuss a four-year plan.
Parents are encouraged to attend along with their student(s). Parents who cannot attend should review the course options with their student at home.
Students do not need to return an articulation sheet but should be prepared to share their course requests with Mr. Rubin during their appointment or by email.
If you would prefer to work with Mr. Rubin over email to select classes, please email him your requests.

Are you a 10th-12th grader with a GPA of 3.5 or higher? If so, you’re invited to apply for the Mt. Everest Academy Chapter of the National Honor Society! Applicants must have been enrolled for a full semester at MEA prior to the application deadline and have a current GPA of 3.5 or higher. Students who are inducted may gain access to scholarship opportunities through the NHS.

Junior Theatre Productions in Balboa Park
Come and support fellow MEA students in the Junior Theatre production of "Sideways Stories from Wayside School." Show opens Friday, February 23rd at 7pm and runs for 3 weekends. Fridays at 7pm and Saturdays/Sundays at 2pm. Last show is Sunday, March 16th 2pm.
