đQuarter 1 Grade and Synergy/Canvas Discrepancy
Dear CMIT North HS Families,
Quarter 1 concluded on Thursday, October 31, and teachers have finalized all grades.
During progress reports, we informed you about a discrepancy between the Synergy and Canvas grade reporting systems. For the most accurate grades, please refer to Canvas, as this remains the more reliable source. Unfortunately, the issue has not yet been resolved for Quarter 1, and as such, Synergy Quarter Grades will be adjusted to reflect the Canvas grades. For example, if a student has a 78% (C) in Synergy but an 81% (B) in Canvas, the official Quarter 1 report card grade (under Grades in ParentVUE or StudentVUE, not Gradebook) will show a B.
We understand that this inconsistency may be confusing and frustrating. The county has implemented a resolution that will take effect starting in Quarter 2 to address this issue. We appreciate your continued patience and support as we work through this process.
For any questions regarding a specific grade, please reach out to that teacher. For any questions, regarding the overall process or discrepancy, please reach out to the administration.

đ Math Department Updates: Exciting Quizzes and a Big Week Ahead!
Greetings Tiger Families!
Itâs been an exciting week in the Math department, and thereâs more to look forward to as our scholars gear up for some important assessments and showcase their hard work! Hereâs a sneak peek at whatâs happening in each of our math courses:
Geometry Classes: Chapter 3 Quiz & Linear Equations Review
For all scholars in Mr. Bayramâs class, mark your calendars! The Chapter 3 quiz will take place on November 18th. Itâs an important assessment, so make sure to review key concepts ahead of time. We know youâll do great!
In all other Geometry classes, students are diving into Linear Equations, which is a review from Algebra 1. Whether itâs solving for x or graphing lines, this unit is helping reinforce those critical foundational skills. Keep up the great work as we move closer to the end of the semester!
Algebra 2: Quiz on November 18th!
Attention Algebra 2 scholarsâdonât forget that you also have a quiz on November 18th. Be sure to review all of the material weâve covered so far; your hard work is paying off, and this quiz will be another chance to shine!
Quantitative Modeling: Quiz on Solving Systems of Equations (Friday!)
This Friday, Quantitative Modeling students will have a quiz on Solving Systems of Equations. Brush up on graphing, substitution and elimination methods, and be ready to show what youâve learned. Weâre confident that all our scholars will rise to the challenge!
AP Pre-Calculus: Unit 1 Test on November 26th
The AP Pre-Calculus class is getting ready for their Unit 1 Test on November 26th. This test will cover all the essential skills from the first unit, so be sure to study those key concepts in preparation. AP classes can be challenging, but we know our scholars are more than up for the task!
Flipped Classroom: All Non-AP Math Classes Try a New Approach!
In an exciting new development, all non-AP math courses are trying out a flipped classroom model. This means students will complete their notes at home to prepare for the following day's lesson. This innovative approach encourages independent learning and helps students be more engaged and ready for class discussions and activities. Weâre excited to see how this method works out for our scholars!
Math Scholar of the Week: Anaya Jean
And finally, we want to take a moment to celebrate our Math Scholar of the Week, Anaya Jean from Quantitative Modeling! Anayaâs dedication to her learning, her organizational skills, and her consistent effort have led her to remarkable success. She truly embodies the qualities of a standout scholar, and we are so proud to have her as part of our math community. Congratulations, Anaya!
As always, we encourage all of our scholars to stay organized, review consistently, and reach out to their teachers if they need any extra support. The end of the semester is approaching fast, and we know our Tigers are ready to finish strong.
Stay tuned for more updates, and keep up the fantastic work!
