WES Weekly

Dear Worthington Estates Families,
I hope you had a great weekend filled with wonderful weather! This is the last full week of school for the 24-25 school year, and I can't believe how fast it went this year!
Happy Mother's Day to those celebrating, and thinking of those that may have a harder time on days like this.
Last days information is below,
Ms. Niskanen/Beth
proud principal, Worthington Estates
New and/or approaching events/info...
Upcoming Dates for family calendars...
This week:
May 12 = Locker Boot Camp (getting our 5th graders feeling confident for middle school)
May 14 = Senior Tea @ WES
May 15 = Gr 5 End of year Celebration @ Mirolo (save the date, evening event)
May 16 = Gr 3 Field Trip
May 19 = Gr 1 Field Trip, last Nest group of the year
May 22 = Last day of school *note it's a THURSDAY this year*, Fantastic Fun Day, and 5th grade Clap Out
Fantastic Fun Day/Last day of school is coming...
A few details for Fun Day for our newest families...
- kids wear tie dye shirts on this last day (made this week during art...PLEASE check backpacks for bags of wet tie dye > more info below)
- ONLY registered volunteers listed on our PTA SIGN UP GENIUS are able to be present.
- Please know there is no 'visiting' this day (high schoolers w/o classes and/or parents not able to be on volunteer list). This event has nearly 700 people with us and any non-registered visitors (even for a moment) can create a large safety need for everyone.
for all of our owls on the last day:
- IF you have ANY changes to dismissal on this last day, please let office know ASAP and have your child signed out and picked up by 2PM.
A few details for Clap out for our 5th grade families...
- May 22, 5th grade families to help 'send off' our kids to middle school
- Be lined up by door 9 (leading out to pavilion) by 2:10 (we start inside and kids then come out door 9 and walk through tunnel of parents, takes about 25 minutes total)
- please do not bring pets to this event
- if your 5th grader is leaving school this day a different way than usual, your kid's teacher needs to know
PLEASE...
We understand "life" will cause a few last minutes needs, but multiple changes during a 600+ person dismissal can slow our efficiency and safety. thank you!
Also, are you moving over summer? Ms. Thompson needs to know now please.
