A drawing a day for student artists participating in Inktober
Mrs. Bobbie McAllister's high school Drawing II class is participating in "Inktober," a global art challenge that involves creating an ink drawing every day in October.
Students kicked off October 1 with the prompt, "backpack." Each day students will draw the day's prompt in their sketchbook.
"The class looks forward to sharing their drawings, and gaining inspiration from other artists who are a part of the movement," Mrs. McAllister said.
If you want to follow along and check out more from our talented student artists, we will be featuring the daily drawings on our social media sites (Facebook, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).

Aymie is the epitome of dependability in our class; she always has her work done for class and is always prepared, setting a standard for her peers. Her respectful demeanor shines through in every interaction, whether she’s engaging in discussions or lending a helping hand to classmates. Aymie’s supportiveness is evident as she actively listens and encourages others, making them feel valued and understood. Courteous in her communication, she always expresses gratitude and maintains a positive attitude, fostering a warm classroom environment. Additionally, her attentiveness to both her studies and her peers’ needs ensures that she is not only a model student but also a trusted friend to those around her.
11th Grade: Arianna Urbina
Nominated by: Mr. Marty Quertermous
Arianna is one of those students that when you meet her, she instantly presents mature, confident and very friendly. I have had the pleasure of Arianna joining the Early College Program and hitting the ground running. She expresses all aspects of CARDS with the way she conducts herself around others. The level of attentiveness and dependability is shown by her way of thinking, and that she is always looking ahead for her goals and inspiring those around her to achieve. Her courteousness and supportiveness is shown by her initiating a study group including all of her cohort members prior to exams in the college classes. She is extremely inclusive and wants to support all of those around her to succeed.
12th Grade: Braylen Naves
Nominated by: Mr. Rob Belprez
In the short while that I've had Braylen in class, it has become clear that he has true leadership potential. He's kind and courteous to others and helpful and attentive during class. He's demonstrated a strong work ethic as well. These traits have earned him the respect and admiration of his peers, and he remains humble and kind to all. He's a great example of what it means to be a Davison Cardinal .
DAE: Ashlynn Halicek
Nominated by: Miss Taylor Brooks
Ashlynn is a great student! She is always respectful and courteous! Ashlynn is new to DAE and it has been a pleasure to get to know her. She is ahead with her assignments in my class and her grades are awesome! When she is absent she makes sure she meets up with her teachers to complete her work and keeps her grades up. I look forward to getting to know her this school year!
