Veterans Day
This year's Veterans Day program was a special one! Thank you to our families who helped support this important day by bringing your child to school early for the set-up and ceremony! We have a school community well connected with our armed service members and a deep gratitude for their service and sacrifice!
The Power of Reading at Home
Did you know that reading at home can profoundly impact your child's academic success and emotional well-being? By fostering a regular reading habit, youβre helping your child:
- Build essential literacy skills: Reading strengthens vocabulary, comprehension, and writing abilities.
- Spark imagination and creativity: Stories transport children to different worlds, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills.
- Develop empathy and understanding: Reading about diverse characters and cultures helps children develop empathy and respect for others.
- Reduce stress and improve mental health: Reading can be a relaxing and enjoyable activity, helping children unwind and manage stress.
How to Encourage Home Reading:
- Read aloud together: Share stories and discuss them together.
- Visit the library regularly: Explore new books and authors.
- Create a cozy reading nook: Designate a special place for reading.
- Set a good example: Read books yourself and share your thoughts.
- Make reading a part of your daily routine: Even a few minutes a day can make a big difference.
