Principals Newsletter
Dear Panther Families,
There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 20, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Today we reflect on Dr. King's legacy of equality, justice, and service to others.
Let us celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a leader who inspired change through his vision of equality, justice, and nonviolence.
His dream of a world united in peace and fairness continues to inspire us all to work toward kindness, understanding, and positive action in our communities.
We honor his memory by striving to make his dream a reality every day.
Enjoy your long weekend!

When is Sick Too Sick for School
Attending school regularly is key to success, helping students stay engaged and connected with their learning. However, we also recognize that health comes first.
If a student is feeling unwell, especially with symptoms such as fever, persistent coughing, or contagious conditions, it’s best to rest and recover at home. Taking care of health not only aids recovery but also helps protect classmates and staff from illness.
Unsure when to send them, and when to keep them home? See the chart below for some helpful guidelines.
Let’s work together to balance the importance of education with the need for self-care. Healthy students are better learners, and we’re here to support both wellness and academic success!

8th Grade Gown Survey- Last Chance
Attention 8th Grade Parents:
Final Reminder: We need your child’s height for graduation gowns! If you haven’t already, please complete the Graduation Gown Survey as soon as possible. The survey has been emailed multiple times to all 8th-grade families and must be submitted for each student.
Starting next Thursday, Ms. Reimann and Ms. Maloney will estimate heights during 8th-grade lunch for any students whose surveys are incomplete.
Important Information:
- A gown will not be ordered for your child without payment, and a gown is required to participate in the graduation ceremony.
- To check if you’ve already made a gown payment, please log in to your Skyward account.
- If your child is using a sibling’s gown from a previous WJHS year, please indicate this on the survey. Selecting "No gown required" will remove the gown fee from your Skyward account.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this important matter!
Graduation Requirements
Ms. Quattrone and Mr. Lipinski will be speaking with parents/guardians of students who are currently in jeopardy of not participating in graduation activities due to requirements for academic standing or SSLC hours.
By working together as a team to create a plan both with and for your student, we will provide them with the tools and direction necessary.
A Few Final Thoughts...
Remember to check out our Facebook page for all the fun happenings around WJHS and remember to check the WJHS calendar for up-to-date information on Clubs, Events, and Athletics at the Jr. high.
We will see you back here next week! Have a great weekend.
