Please check your child's school cafeteria account to be sure debts are paid prior to the last day of school.
A parent/guardian must pick up all medications in the health room by the end of the school day on Friday, June 7, 2024. To arrange for pick-up please contact health room staff directly at 240-236-1880. All non-emergency medication(s) and expired medication(s) of any kind remaining in the health room will be destroyed at the end of the school day, unless alternate arrangements have been made directly with health room staff.
LOST AND FOUND
Every year the school lost and found contains many personal items of clothing that are never claimed. These items are donated to local charities twice a year. To avoid losing your valuable clothing, parents are asked to clearly label all personal belongings with the child’s name so that lost items may be returned promptly.
If your child is missing a sweater, jacket, etc., please check our “Lost and Found” periodically. Items will be donated to the FCPS Success Program on May 29, 2024.
Save the Date- Fifth Grade Celebration Wednesday, June 5 9:30-10:30 am.
The art and music teachers are pleased to announce the 2024 Night of the Arts on Wednesday, May 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Myersville Elementary School! Please join us in the gym that will be transformed into a gallery with over 400 pieces of art--one from each student at MYES! The cafeteria will be a concert hall that will host grade-level mini-concerts (about 10-12 minutes of music for each grade level) all evening long. We hope you will join us!
Mini Concert Schedule-
5:35 p.m. Kindergarten (line up at 5:25 p.m.)
5:55 p.m. 1st grade (line up at 5:45 p.m.)
6:15 p.m. 2nd grade (line up at 6:05 p.m.)
6:35 p.m. 3rd grade (line up at 6:25 p.m.)
6:55 p.m. 4th grade (line up at 6:45 p.m.)
7:15 p.m. 5th grade (line up at 7:05 p.m.)
Mini-Concerts: Students will line up in the music room 10 minutes before their mini-concert, tallest to shortest at their class sign. Please do not send your student to line up prior to 10 minutes before the concert.
After their performance, students will be dismissed from the stage. Families are then invited to exit from the cafeteria into the gym for the Art Show. Families of 5th graders will want to visit the Art Show BEFORE the mini-concert as Arts Night will conclude at the end of the 5th grade mini-concert. After dismissal, please be prepared to get your student and move quickly out of the cafeteria so that families for the next mini concert may enter and find a seat.
Help the Night Go Smoothly: We anticipate a huge turn out for this event! Please plan extra time for parking. Inside of the building, please pay attention to and honor the Enter and Exit doors at the cafeteria and and under the outside canopy to the Art Show so that we can quickly and safely load and unload each grade level’s audience members and performers. Audience members for upcoming mini-concerts may be asked to stand in a line in the hallway while waiting for the previous mini-concert audience to dismiss into the art show. Thank you so much for your help!
School Phone Number Change
Beginning on July 1, 2024, Myersville Elementary School's phone number will be changing as all of FCPS transitions to a new telecommunications system.
The phone number change is necessary for two primary reasons: (1) The current telecommunications system is being modernized to allow more system functionality and reduce maintenance and service costs; and (2) the phone number change allows for the standardization of FCPS phone numbers with a common area code and initial three digits for all schools.
Myersville Elementary School's new phone number for the main office will be 227-203-1500.
School based staff can be reached by calling the school’s main number and choosing the appropriate option from the call menu or by dialing a staff member’s extension at any time:

Share how we can better support your family and child with Special Education services. You can complete the short survey at www.mdparentsurvey.com.
The survey will be available through May 24, 2024.
Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences and ideas! Together, we can continue to improve Special Education Services and Programs in FCPS.
School Attendance for 2023-2024
FCPS attendance policies will be fully implemented and parent notification will be sent for any student who is on track to becoming or is already deemed chronically absent or tardy. Notification will begin at 5 days and when a student accumulates 10 or more absences within the school year. Chronic absenteeism is defined as missing 10 percent or more of school days due to absence for any reason- both lawful and unlawful. This amounts to 18 absences total in a single school year.
Maryland Law requires that a written excuse be provided each time that your child is absent. The excuse should include the date of the absence, your child’s first and last name, and the reason for the absence. Please either send in a handwritten note or you can email MYES.Attendance@fcps.org.
