5th grader Sa'ir Malone holds second book signing
Sa'ir Malone, a 5th grade High Ability student at Eastside Elementary School, held his second book signing last week at Sherman Street Church. The event marked the release of two new books! Sa'ir, who is just 10 years old, now has authored 3 books. He has done so by participating in our ACE Clubs program. Each of his books have been published in partnership with Write Brian Books and can be purchased by emailing info@writebrainworld.com or calling 1-855-WB-BOOKS, ext. 1.
Chef Tardy named IACTE 2024 Teacher of the Year
The Indiana Association for Career and Technical Education (IACTE) named the Anderson / District 26 Career Center's Culinary Instructor Chef Domonic Tardy as their 2024 Teacher of the Year! They did so at their All State Conference last week in Indianapolis.
Two AHS students named finalists for the Lilly Endowment Scholarship
Anderson High School (AHS) seniors Isaac Knost and Jaylin Hernandez were recently named finalists for the Lilly Endowment Scholarship by the Madison County Community Foundation! Madison County's Scholarships will be provided to two students, who will be provided eight semesters of full tuition, required fees, and a special allocation of $900 per year for required books and required equipment for four years of undergraduate study on a full time basis...more.
Anderson substitute teacher using music to inspire the next generation
Mr. Morgan, a substitute teacher at Anderson Intermediate School (AIS), has become an Internet sensation over the past few weeks! A talented musician, Mr. Morgan plays music, skates, and dances in the Cafeteria during lunch every Friday. National Hispanic Heritage Month event at D26
You are invited to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month with Anderson Community Schools on October 1, 2024 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Anderson High School (AHS) District 26 Career Center. At this free event you can sample foods prepared by the AHS District 26 Career Center's Culinary Arts program. They will be preparing foods from: El Salvador, Mexico, Brazil, and Puerto Rico.
