The Boeckman Buzz
June 1st, 2025
A Note from Principal Sage
BMS Families,
This week we will look to celebrate the learning communities that were created over this year. It has been an amazing year. Boeckman has an incredible staff that is dedicated to making positive connections with students daily. The kids that attend Boeckman are hands down the best. I can’t say it enough; I am so incredibly PROUD to be the principal at Boeckman Middle School!
As we enter the last week of school, we want to continue to offer the ability for parents to write a Tiger Stripe to our staff. Tiger Stripes are a way of spreading gratitude and our staff has almost 10,000 Tiger Stripes this year to our community. As parents, your words and recognition of our staff mean a lot. Linked here is a quick way to send a message of thanks to an individual staff member.
We would like to ask your help in reminding your student to follow our core values the next few days and throughout the summer. Below are quick speaking points that you could use to help support our staff here at school:
- Core Value: Be Responsible – Ask your student to continue to meet the expectations both in school and on the bus. Some moments there can be a lot of energy, and it is important for students to remember to be responsible in all settings.
- Core Value: Show Compassion – Ask your student how they can show gratitude to peers, staff members and family members. Take time with your student to have them articulate what they are thankful for on a regular basis.
- Core Value: Have Integrity – Ask your student how they stay focused throughout the day. Gentle reminders to your child about listening to adult direction and trusting their “gut” to do the “right” thing every day is always appreciated by our staff.
Check ordering school supplies off of your to-do list today by going to sproutsupplies.com and using our school code RBMS001.

We have an incredible community of learners, parents, and staff. Thank you for all your partnership and support over the year. This will be the last newsletter of the 24-25 school year. You can expect a mid-summer update in early August. Be safe this summer and do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

-Joe Sage, Principal
BMS Staff Member of the Week
Courtney Iverson is a teacher at Boeckman Middle School and has been part of Farmington Area Public Schools for the past six years.
She builds strong relationships with students and provides the support they need to succeed, showing up each day with a positive attitude!
In addition to her work in the classroom, Courtney takes on a variety of leadership roles at BMS that help strengthen our school community.
We’re grateful for all she does to support both learners and staff!

Re: Returning Medications
The school year is almost over! We are reminding you to please plan to pick up your child’s medications, including prescription and over-the-counter medications, from the health office.
We know that medications are expensive and want to get them back to you. However, for safety reasons, we cannot send medications home with students, and we cannot keep medication over the summer.
Please arrange to pick up any remaining medication from school before 3:45 PM on the last day of school 6/5/2025.
Please call the nurses office to make arrangements if the above time does not work.
If you do not come in to get your child’s medication, it is assumed that you are giving us permission to dispose of the medication on the last day of school.
If your student is attending any programs, it is your responsibility to make sure the medication is present on the first day of the program and picked up on the last day.
Also, please find the attached medication consent form for students who will require medications during school hours for next year.
This form will need to be filled out, complete with provider and parent signature, and returned to the nurse before the start of the new school year.
This form must be completed annually.
Thank you and have a healthy and safe summer!
Sincerely,
Nicole Johnson, LPN
New Traffic Flow at BMS
We want to inform you of an upcoming change to traffic flow at the main entrance of Boeckman Middle School, near Door 2. Currently, cars are allowed to travel south and northbound on the drive that is in front of the building, south of the parking lot. Starting Tuesday morning, May 27th, you will notice new one-way signs indicating traffic can only travel northbound on the double lane road that is in front of the building. This change is being made to better ensure all students can arrive and depart from school in a safe manner.
If you plan to drop off or pick up your child, please enter from the south side of the building where buses also enter and exit. Cars will no longer be able to travel southbound past the parking lot.
To help keep traffic moving smoothly and safely, we encourage all families to use the designated drop-off area in front of Door 11.
We are attaching a document with illustrations to highlight the changes being made.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school safe and efficient for all.

As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help!
iPad Collection!
iPads - Collected June 2nd (if loan agreement hasn’t been filled out)
If you would like your student to have their iPad over the summer, please fill out the iPad Loan Agreement via the RevTrak site before June 2nd.
iPads will be collected June 2nd during the school day if the iPad Loan Agreement hasn’t been filled out.
iPads that are collected June 2nd will be given back to students in September once the iPad Loan Agreement has been filled out.
Every Meal Program at BMS
Throughout this school year we were fortunate to partner with Every Meal to offer a free weekend meal program to all our learners. As the school year comes to a close, we want to remind families of this wonderful program and share that we still have an abundance of food we would like our families to benefit from and take in our main entryway doors. If the food is not used, we send it back to the program. We would love for our families to take advantage of these items before summer break. As a reminder of the program, Every Meal is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to fight child hunger through community and school partnerships. They strive to make a difference in children’s lives by focusing on food gaps like weekends, school breaks, and summer when they cannot receive food in school.
- Free for all families
- No qualifications required
- Students enrolled in the program will receive a 4-5 pound bag of nutritious, nonperishable food each week
- Every Meal does not collect information from families; privacy is protected
- Families may choose to participate in the program anytime throughout the school year
- Families may choose from a variety of different weekend food bag options
Please contact Tenille Jennings at tjennings@farmington.k12.mn.us or 651-460-1478 if you have any questions.
2025-2026 School Supplies
Each year we offer families an opportunity to make getting school supplies easier! Skip the store lines this year and take care of back-to-school shopping from the comfort of home! Boeckman Middle School is partnering with Sprout School Supplies for the third year to offer prepackaged school supply kits for the 2025–26 school year.
With just a few clicks, you can make sure your student is ready for the first day of school—saving time, money, and stress along the way.
Sprout kits are tailored to our school’s supply lists, making things easier for families and helping our students start the year with everything they need to be successful. When students show up ready to learn, it helps teachers do what they do best from day one.
Order your Sprout Supply Kit now at sproutsupplies.com using our school code RBMS001. The deadline to order is July 8th, 2025.
Summer iPad Checkout is Back for 2025-2026
Families with learners who currently take iPads home in grades K-11 may now opt to checkout their district issued iPads for the summer months! We have been offering the optional summer iPad checkout since 2016. A majority of eligible families and learners last year opted to check out their issued iPads. Using RevTrak to agree to the updated 2025-26 iPad Loan Agreement will ensure that your child is set with their iPad check out for the entire 2025-26 academic year.
The option for Summer iPad checkout supports our efforts to foster open-ended, personalized learning opportunities; curiosity; exploration and continued access to creative tools and resources. It also allows students to continue to have access to technology for summer learning opportunities.
We encourage families with learners currently taking devices home to consider checking out their learner’s district issued iPad for the summer. The optional summer iPad checkout allows learners participating in summer programs continued access to their issued iPad and resources and reduces the number of learners needing to participate in “spring collections” and the “fall checkout” process when schools are back in session. This shortens the amount of time that learners and teachers are without the use of iPads next fall. Those opting for summer iPad checkout will be set until spring 2026.
The updated 2025-26 iPad Loan Agreement, is available online and includes helpful information for iPads checked out for the summer and for the following school year. The RevTrak “iPad Loan Agreement” activitiesare live for each school site allowing parents, guardians, and learners the ability to review and agree to the terms of the 2025-26 iPad Loan Agreement and either opt to ENROLL in, or WAIVE participation in the iPad Protection Plan. The enrollment fee for the optional iPad Protection Plan is $35 for the 2025-26 school year, with no additional fee for the summer months.
Please note that if you have not used RevTrak yet, you will need to create an account and also know your child’s Student ID number to complete the registration process. If you used RevTrak for completing last year’s 2024-25 iPad Loan Agreement, the system has saved your parent and child account information. You will still need to know your learner’s Student ID number and name as listed in our student information system, Infinite Campus. The RevTrak e-Guides and Customer Account guide, along with the RevTrak Frequently Asked Questions provide helpful information for setting up and using the system.
Please see our Frequently Asked Questions for more details on the optional summer iPad checkout, the iPad Protection Plan, and repair procedures. Individual schools will share end-of-year collection information for those not choosing to take advantage of this opportunity.
For families opting to check out their learner’s iPad for the summer, please know that iPad collection dates vary by school. It is therefore strongly recommended to use RevTrak to review and agree to the 2025-26 iPad Loan Agreement, determine if you want to waive or enroll in the iPad Protection Plan, and complete the “checkout” process as soon as possible.
