We are so excited to welcome our new students! Please be sure to mark your calendar for the following important dates. Further details and information will be shared closer to the events.

• A parent only Kindergarten Kick-Off Meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 28th at 6:00 PM. We will meet in the Shawnee Multi-Purpose Room (MPR). You will meet with members of our staff to answer any questions you may have and to learn about Shawnee, our procedures and policies and the kindergarten program.
• We will have a Sneak Peek Event on Tuesday, August 27th at 5:00 - 6:30 PM. Students will be able to see their classroom, tour the school with their families and meet their Kindergarten teacher.
• A parent only Curriculum Night will take place on Tuesday, August 27th at 7:00 PM. This is an important meeting for parents and teachers. These meetings will take place in the classrooms.

• Tuesday, September 3rd is our first day of school. Tuesday will be a half day of school.

Am I Ready For Kindergarten?

Incoming Kindergarten Assessments will take place at Shawnee Elementary on Wednesday, June 5th and Thursday, June 6th from 9:10 AM – 3:20 PM. All incoming kindergarten students should be assessed to help us determine class placements and student readiness. Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up for an assessment appointment for your child. Just prior to your scheduled appointment time, please come to the main entrance (Door #1) where there will be chairs set up in the hallway for you to wait until our staff is available for your assessment appointment.
