A message from our PTO
We are a week into our Read A Thon with a week to go! We have 206 of 398 students registered. If you still aren’t registered, please do so at getmovinfundhub.com using the school code 6604007f9d187. Each student has a reading BINGO card and we are hearing great stories about how this event is challenging and inspiring our students to READ this week. With a goal of raising $15k, we are thrilled to report we are currently sitting at just over $10k today. We also have donations from 23/50 states! Let’s keep it going through the long weekend and HIT that goal! We intend to use the funds to purchase a STEAM cart for our library, percussion instruments for our music program and much MORE!

There were over 100 parents who attended last week's Community Digital Event at Riverside. There were so many great discussions and questions focused on how to reach, teach, and support our i-generation youth. Check out the full video of the October 1st presentation, "How to reach, teach, and support igeneration youth", featuring Katey McPherson, National Internet Safety Expert, and Dr. Megan Smith, Founder of Communities for Youth and a professor at Boise State University. This video link will expire on November 8, 2024 so be sure to watch soon!
Additionally, here is a useful handout that was shared on 10/2: Guidelines for Families on Digital Media Use (created by Youth Mental Wellness Alliance), Katey McPherson slideshow, and Dr. Megan Smith slideshow. A big thank you to Tara Coffland for helping organize this amazing event!

Dallas Harris PTO
"PTO" stands for Parent Teacher Organization and this is our corner of the Yote Note to communicate with YOU! Below is a link to our website where you can read our meeting minutes, preview past and upcoming events, sign up to volunteer with us and more. Our main purpose is to work alongside school staff to provide enrichment opportunities to the Dallas Harris school community. The PTO works hard all year long to raise funds through both individual donations and special fundraising events so we can provide funding to teacher classrooms, library, art and music programs, help pay for field trips and field trip transportation, and support our amazing school staff when possible. Your donations qualify for the Idaho Education Tax Credit. GO YOTES!

Cell Phone Policy
Dallas Harris is asking that students do not have phones out on school grounds before, during or after school. Students are allowed to keep their cell phones in their backpacks during the day. If SMART watches interfere with learning or are used during the day for calls, they will need to be kept in backpacks as well. for your support on this issue.
