Library books are also sent home now, please encourage reading!
We had a BUSY week of learning and celebrating Veterans Day, National Kindness Day, and our Culture Family Night! Thank you to those that supported these events and to the families that attended Culture Night! We had a lot of fun! Shout out to Student Council and our Teachers for creating Countries Around the World!

Now that we are in November, the temperatures are even lower in the mornings! Please LABEL your student's belongings with their first and last name. Our lost of found is overflowing and we want our students to be warm before school and at recess. Please send your student with a jacket, hat, and gloves because we send students outside if it is above 17 degrees.
Please continue to mindful of picking up your student at dismissal at 2:50 PM and by 4:00 PM if your student is in an after school club or tutoring. Our staff are at school by 7:30 AM and it is a long day if you are late.
Ms. Kelly Dawson is on a leave of absence until January. We have three consistent substitutes-Ms. Kathleen, Ms. Dixie, and Ms. Yo. Please be patient if they ask for student names and teachers when you call. Mr. Dylan is still here and is also available.
The schedule for sign ups for 2nd-5th grade Activities for second semester are available Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:50-4:00 PM. Basketball begins in January. Please sign up below!

Counselor Corner!
Notes from Ms. Gio!
Hi everyone
November is full of the season changing and gratitude, and Thanksgiving around the corner. Gratitude means thanks and appreciation, it is a strong feeling for what a person has done to help you or others. We are thankful for our family, the love that surrounds us, our loyal friends, the opportunities we have, and so much more. Teaching kids to say thank you is an important social skill that many parents stress, but helping them understand how to be truly grateful is a bit trickier. Despite the challenges you might face in helping kids feel grateful in a world that seems to value overabundance, it can be worthwhile.
Gratitude has four key parts:
- Noticing: Recognizing the things you have to be grateful for.
- Thinking: Thinking about why you’ve been given those things.
- Feeling: The emotions you experience due to the things you’ve been given.
- Doing: The way you express appreciation.
Grateful people are happier
Gratitude helps us feel positive emotions. In positive psychology researchers say that gratitude is associated with greater happiness. A grateful person will improve their health, will deal better with adversity, and will build stronger relationships. Being grateful will make you more optimistic. Your life will be more meaningful. Once you start practicing thankfulness, your life will be colorful. People will retribute you with kindness, benevolence, compassion, and so on. During the Holidays we could start practicing gratefulness. The end of the year is a great moment to evaluate what you have achieved and set new goals.
Sometimes we think we need more and more. The clue to meet all our emotional needs lies within us. We are happier by the love we receive, not from the things we stock.
There are many ways to show gratitude to others without needing to buy things. For example: Making breakfast for a loved one. Cleaning the dishes when no one is expecting it. Help someone to cross a street. Check your closet and take out all the pieces you have not used in the past year, once you have them, select the ones that are still useful and find the right person to donate them to. Make eye contact. Talk to a stranger. Make someone laugh for no reason.
Be impeccable with your words, your clothing, your actions, with everything. Keep in mind that if you don’t have anything positive to say, avoid making a comment. If you experience something nice share it. If you could help someone feel better, do it! There are always opportunities to work on promoting gratitude and to be thankful for our blessings.
To practice the art of gratefulness you need calmness. You must connect with your inner voice.
