Make a difference to the Environment: Join in the Cleanup of Rochester Parks
Rochester has more than 3,500 acres of nationally recognized parks where community members can explore, play, enjoy entertainment and seek solace amongst natural beauty. Seneca Park Zoo Society is partnering with the City of Rochester’s Department of Recreation and Youth Services to sponsor a series of ‘park clean-up events’ along the Genesee Riverway Trail.
We will be helping to clean up our area parks and then, weighing our garbage so we can measure our success. During each of these clean-ups we will include some sort of citizen science component , whether we are doing an invasive species pull, or just identifying them for a future pull, you will be making a difference!! Our first scheduled clean-up is Saturday, April 21st.
- Meet us at Turning Point Park from 9-12.
- Gloves and pick sticks will be provided.
- Bring a water bottle and dress for the weather.
