The Weekly Highlander

What a fantastic week to be a Highlander! We had Volleyball finals at Momentus Sports Center, Knight at the Museum in the Activity Center, and PTA Sponsored Fun Friday. You can see photos and reels of these events on Instagram and Facebook.

Next week is conference week, we will have minimum days on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. On each of these minimum days, breakfast will be served before school. Wednesday is a regular late start with first period starting at 9:15 am. On Wednesday, our counseling team will host the Breakfast Club at 8:30 am in the MPR, all students are welcome to attend. On Wednesday, Hewes PTA is sponsoring an incredible assembly from the BMX Stunt Team. They will show us their incredible athletic abilities and focus on delivering an anti-bullying message to our campus. We are so appreciative of our Hewes PTA sponsorship of this event.

The Hewes staff is recognizing HIGHLANDERS “H” FOR A DAY AWARD! Highlander for a Day is a program at Hewes Middle School that celebrates students for incredible moments in the areas of Respect, Responsibility, and Results.

On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday of next week, breakfast will be served to all students starting at 7:50am. These are minimum days and lunch will be served during student snack at 10:30am with no food being served after school. Please plan on sending your students early if they need to get breakfast.

Basketball will be starting after spring break. There will be an informational meeting on Thursday, March 7th from 2:45 pm to 3:15 pm in the Activity Center. If you are unable to attend that meeting, applications will be available in the office. The season will officially start the week of March 26th.
