The Giving Tree - Due TOMORROW!
If you receive free or reduced lunch and expect to have difficulty providing holiday gifts for your children, please complete the form below by TOMORROW, October 22, 2024.
As part of the Giving Tree Project, Stowe students will receive holiday gifts from the students at East High School, Concordia Lutheran Church, UMD Outdoor Education Program, and other donors.

Halloween Events
Tuesday, October 29th
Happily Haunted Hike & Trunk or Treat @ Stowe
5-6:30PM
*Students must be accompanied by an adult*
Join us for a walk through the school forest, ending with Trunk or Treat in the Stowe parking lot. Brought to you by Stowe PTA!
Thursday, October 31st
Halloween Parade @ Stowe (Rain Location: Gymnasium)
1:10 PM
The parade route: Students exit onto 101st Ave W, walk 2 blocks and take a right on Goodhue, walk 2 blocks and take a right on Griak St, and then walk back to Stowe. Families are encouraged to park legally along the parade route. Remain parked until all students have passed. RAIN LOCATION: GYMNASIUM
COSTUMES MUST BE...
- School appropriate and G-rated
- No masks - we must be able to easily identify the child for safety
- Must be easy enough for the child to put on themselves
- No blood, gore, or any type of weapons
- Please do NOT send your student to school in costume (they will have time to change before the parade).
- You must check your child out in the office if you are taking them home after the parade.
Picture Day Ordering
Pictures are available for ordering through Jostens website. Please click the link below and enter the Stowe code FE21924 to view and select your pictures.
Pictures will be shipped directly to your house.

Library Volunteers
Attention parents, grandparents, community members and retired folks! We are excited to announce library volunteer experiences to help support our students' love of reading. Make a positive impact at Stowe Elementary and share your love of books. Tasks include shelving and organizing books, inventory, and creating bulletin boards and displays. What We've Been Up To...
Food Drive Results
The food drive organized by Ms. Tokarczyk's 4th grade class was a HUGE success! We are so proud of the work our students did in gathering donations. In total, we donated 520 items (a total of 423 POUNDS of food!) to Second Harvest Northland.
The classes that gathered the most donations and won extra gym time were:

Kid's Closet
Stowe partners with Duluth Kid's Closet to provide clothing and shoes for students in need. If you need a referral for Kid's Closet, please stop by the office (or send an email to kallie.riker@isd709.org). Once a referral is submitted from our end, please expect a call from Kid's Closet to schedule an appointment.
HDC In-School Therapy
Duluth Public Schools is a proud partner of HDC to provide mental health services in school.
To register your child to receive therapy during school hours, please fill out an HDC referral form in the Stowe office, or send Ms. Riker an email (kallie.riker@isd709.org) to place the referral form in your student's backpack.
After the initial intake at the HDC office (this is an excused absence if it falls during a school day), students can attend following therapy sessions at school.
Required Immunizations
Please contact the nurse's office at 218-722-3965 ext. 3905. if you have any questions on the required immunizations per MN Law.

Kate DiCamillo Book Signing - Saturday, November 2nd
Beloved children's author Kate DiCamillo (The Tale of Despereaux, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, Tiger Rising) will be at our Duluth Barnes & Noble on Saturday, November 2nd at 1PM to discuss her book "The Hotel Balzaar" - a follow up to "The Puppets of Spelhorst." It is an amazing event you don't want to miss out on!
