Volume 3 ~ Issue 6 ~ Week of August 25, 2024
💛 Message from the Principal 💛
Viking Students and Parents, I want to take a moment to address an important issue that impacts the well-being of everyone on our campus: the spread of rumors and unnecessary drama. In today’s world, social media can fuel misunderstandings and amplify conflicts in ways that quickly spiral out of control. As 7th and 8th graders, you are at an age where it’s often difficult to handle situations with maturity and rational thinking. If you’re ever unsure of how to manage a situation, I encourage you to seek support from the adults on campus. We are here to help guide you through challenges in a way that keeps our environment positive and respectful.
Approaching someone with a large group of people to confront them is not the right way to resolve conflicts. This kind of behavior can lead to more tension and hurt feelings, making our campus less welcoming for everyone. If you ever find yourself in a difficult situation, please talk to a teacher, counselor, or administrator. It’s important to show kindness and be mindful of how your actions impact others. Let’s work together to make our school a safe space where everyone feels respected and valued. We have zero tolerance for unnecessary drama and encourage everyone to focus on creating a supportive community.
Let's make it a great week, Vikings!! 💛
Reminder: No School Next Monday, Sept. 2nd
Just a friendly reminder that school is closed next Monday in honor of Labor Day. Please plan accordingly. School resumes on Tuesday, September 3rd.
Please do your part and clean up after yourselves!
Hey Vikings, let’s talk about something really important—cleaning up after ourselves during nutrition break and lunch! When we leave trash lying around, it not only makes our school look messy and brings all of the crows and seagulls swooping in, but it also creates extra work for our custodians, who work hard every day to keep our campus clean. We all share this space, so it’s everyone’s responsibility to pitch in and do their part. Picking up after yourself shows respect for our school, for others, and for the environment. If you are sitting with friends and notice that they leave their trash, call them out on it and encourage them to clean their mess! Let’s keep our campus a place we can all be proud of by making sure every wrapper, bottle, and piece of trash ends up in the trash cans.
Progress Reports are around the corner!!
We are less than two weeks out from our first Progress Report of the year. Are you doing your part to make sure you have good grades on September 6th?? Be sure to attend before or after school tutoring to take advantage of the extra help being offered!!
Parents, save the date for our 1st Viking Shadow Day of the Year!
Parents/Guardians, you are cordially invited to our first Viking Shadow Day of the Year! This is an opportunity for you to come shadow your child in their classes and interact with their teachers. The event starts at 8:15am and after a brief meeting with admin, you are off to your child's classes. That day is a full day schedule so each class is approximately 57 minutes long. You are welcome to stay as long as you'd like, for as many periods as you'd like. At lunch, we'd love for you to join Ms. Scott for some pizza and opportunity for Q & A. Please click the link below to rsvp no later than Friday, August 30th, so we have an accurate count. We hope to see you there on Tuesday, September 3rd!
