Dear Mustang Families,
Thank you to the PTA for a great Spring Carnival Event. It takes a lot of time, energy, and volunteers to pull off an event like this one! We appreciate all those who volunteered, ran games, cooked food, and so much more.
This week is Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week. Our entire staff works tirelessly to serve our students and our community. They go above and beyond every day to support our kids. I am so proud to be a part of the Madera Learning Community and I appreciate all of our team members.
CAASPP testing starts this week.

CAASPP Testing for 3rd-5th Graders
Our CAASPP testing window will start May 6th-23rd. Madera students will be actively testing on May 6th, 7th, 8th, 13th, 14th, and 21st. On these testing days it is extremely important that all students get a good nights sleep, a good breakfast, and arrive to school on time. Students who arrive late, may not be admitted to the testing session in their classrooms as we can not disturb the testing environment. Please try to schedule any appointments after noon if possible.
Due to test security protocols, students may not have electronic devices such as smartwatches or cell phones in the classrooms during testing. Please keep electronic devices at home on these days of active testing. In addition, classroom volunteers will be limited to the days that students are not actively testing. This will ensure that we can maintain test security procedures.
We know our students have learned so much over the course of this year and this is a great opportunity to show what they have learned. We encourage all our students to do their best and give their best efforts. We are so proud of all that they have accomplished this year!
Completion of CAASPP Celebration for Grades 3-5th sponsored by Student Council
Permission Slips and Behavior Agreements for this event are due May 13th
Only those student who turned in requested forms by 5/13 will be able to attend

Madera Handbook
What do I do if my child is absent? Does my child have to stay home if he/she has a fever? Can I bring birthday treats? What time does school start? When is recess? Are crocs allowed in sport mode?
For answers to these questions and more, please review the following Madera Handbook information for important information about attendance, procedures, policies, school safety, and discipline. Please click the button below to access the handbook.
Always bring your ID when coming to school! Visitor Sign in required!
Madera and District Early Dismissal Day-Please mark your Calendars!
Inclement Weather
Please help your child be mindful of the weather conditions each day and be prepared with weather appropriate clothing. As we move into the "winter" season, the weather is unpredictable. Students will continue to go outside to play at recess time. Please be sure that your child's clothing is also labeled with his/her name. Even in the cold weather, students who go outside to play and run around will leave jackets and sweatshirts on the playground as they heat up from activity. We want to try to get lost items of clothing back to rightful owners!
On inclement weather days, students are usually asked to go to the MPR for the morning until the bell rings and the teacher picks them up for class.
Community Resources
The Dinner Site Calendar is linked here. Meals are available to all families in need. Samaritan Center also serves breakfast and lunch. Families can also use the showers but need to meet with a caseworker at Samaritan Center to set this up.
