A SPECIAL WRITING ASSIGNMENT FROM A STUDENT THAT FITS OUR LEARNER DISPOSITION OF PERSEVERANCE
WIPEOUT
Picture yourself on skis gliding down snow covered slopes, your nose is tingling, and your mouth is watering. You smell nature all around you as you weave between snow glistening pine trees. Skiing, that is what this essay is going to be about.
First off, I want to point out that it is not easy. I tell you this from experience. Yes, you’ll fall, and you’ll need to get back up again. If we relate this to our lives, we all have thrilling moments, and hard falls.
What I’m trying to point out is that we should never give up even when things get hard in life. Like, say you’re in the middle of your I-ready diagnostic and there’s a question that you don’t know. What do you do? For me there’s only one answer to that question, and that is to not give up. Sometimes that one choice can be hard but, trust me, its worth it. I sometimes think of it as faith or trust that you have in yourself.
In conclusion, whether it’s life or skiing that gives you an icy turn or a sweet ride, don’t give up.

IF Your Child Is Absent...
Please be sure to call into the office or email Jenene Hill at hill.jenene@westada.org if your child is out absent.
If your child has an appointment, please be sure to get a verification form from the provider to allow the school to change the coding for attendance. If your child has a standing appointment weekly/monthly, you can get the letter from the provider for the length of time to share with the office to allow for proper coding.
*Per district policy, an unverified absence will convert to truancy unless verbal communication is received from a parent/guardian within 48 hours (counts against attendance standard).
Thank you for helping us maintain accuracy and account for all students.
