Help-A-Husky @ North
The holiday season is approaching and we are starting to collect donations in support of our North families in need. As always, we will be accepting gift card donations, which in the past have included gift cards for gas stations, grocery stores, big-box stores, restaurants, online retailers, and home improvement stores. All gift card donations should be dropped off in the main office. If you are interested in supporting a family in need this holiday season or donating items other than gift cards, please contact our social workers, Amanda Wood (awood@d47.org) or Valerie Skala (vskala@d47.org) for more information. No matter the donation, we are appreciative of the support for our North Community. We hope you have an awesome holiday season! Donations of gift cards, food, etc., are accepted throughout the school year. Thank you!
Animals on School Property
In order to assure student health and safety, animals are not allowed on school property at any time, except in the case of a service animal accompanying a student or other individual with a documented disability. This rule may be temporarily waived by the building principal in the case of an educational opportunity for students, provided that: (a) the animal is appropriately housed, humanely cared for, and properly handled, and (b) students will not be exposed to a dangerous animal or an unhealthy environment. As an additional reference, the McHenry County Department of Health has an Animal Control Ordinance, Article XVII, Section 5.13.
