Good morning Fulton Families,
This weekend was a perfect weekend for PTA's Fall Fest. Students were boogieing in the gym, jumping in the bounce houses, lined up for the face painting and sand art, and much more. Thank you PTA for a successful Fall Fest.
We are so excited that today kicks off our annual PTA Pumpkin Patch. Throughout Mondays in October, our students will visit the pumpkin patch and have the opportunity to pick a pumpkin of their choosing. This is such a fund time for our students!
Wishing you wave of joy,
Dr. Burks, Mrs. Liwosz, & Mrs. Sillers
Providing qualifying families with one free Chromebook and charger per household
As part of a grant from the State of Maryland’s Connected Devices Program, our school is partnering with the Bright Minds Foundation and the Howard County Government to provide qualifying families with one free Chromebook and charger per household. This free new HP Chromebook can be used by your family to connect with our schools, access community services, or for any other purpose that would be of benefit to you.
In order to qualify for a free Chromebook and charger, you must meet the following criteria:
Your family has not already received a free device from one of these organizations: Community Action Council of Howard County, Howard County Office of Children and Families, or Making Change;
You are the parent or legal guardian of a student currently enrolled in HCPSS;
You meet one of the income qualifications outlined on the application form; and,
The application form is fully completed.
If you qualify for a Chromebook and have completed the Google Form application, you will be notified by Fulton Elementary School when the device is available in November/December for pick up. At that time, an adult family member (at least 18 years old) will need to come to the school to receive the device. When you pick up the device, you will receive information about setting up the device and how to access technical support. These are not HCPSS devices, and will not come loaded with any HCPSS educational applications. HCPSS is not responsible or liable for the operation, loss, or repair of your Chromebook or charger. Families will be responsible for their own internet service. Families will have 5 days to exchange any non-functioning devices. Please read the instructions and complete the Free Chromebooks for Eligible HCPSS Parents or Guardians Google Form by clicking here by Friday September 27, 2024. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Jayne Considine at jayne_considine@hcpss.org.
We look forward to partnering with the Bright Minds Foundations, Howard County Government, and you for this incredible opportunity!

Fall Fest
We hope everyone who came out yesterday had a blast at the fall fest! We had sun, fun, food, games, inflatables and even a glow party!
This could not have happened without the planning committee - Donna Cruz, Genna Bross, Chloe Grosberg and PTA board member Stacey Oken- you executed countless activities and thought of every last detail to make the day a success!
We also appreciate our volunteers who took time away from their families to ensure all of the children could enjoy the festival. Many of you coming early and working past your scheduled time to keep stations open - we truly could not have done it without you!
We are so grateful for our sponsors who stood alongside us volunteering and came with hand outs, games and more. Your support is integral to our PTA!
We were so glad so many staff members were there to enjoy the day with us! Now onto the Falcon Trot!

FES RECC accepting applications!
The Fulton Regional Early Childhood Center (RECC) prekindergarten programs are continuing to accept applications for students to participate as peers through the Learning Together Program (LTP) for this school year. These classes include children with and without disabilities. The program’s focus is helping all children develop communication, literacy, math, problem solving, motor, and social skills. Parents of children who are 3 by September 1st, applications are available in our office or visit: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gcpscIC8Wh5nQbsDTCX2KLUSLor59jTS/view?usp=sharing
The Howard County Public School System continues to offer Prekindergarten for income eligible children who will be 4 years old by September 1. For additional information contact the school or visit: https://www.hcpss.org/schools/pre-k-programs/
HCPSS is committed to providing instruction based on the statewide Early Learning Standards which are in alignment with Kindergarten Readiness. The fees listed in the application will be collected monthly regardless of the learning model determined by HCPSS throughout the upcoming school year (virtual, hybrid, in person, or class quarantine). If you have any additional questions , please contact Jessica Lifson at (410) 880-5957.
Flu Immunizations at FES
You are not required to provide your child’s insurance information. If you have any concerns about the new Covid vaccine, you are advised to speak with your child’s pediatrician. All in-school clinics will be closed to registration one week before the clinic date to allow our health room staff time to review and prepare the consents and make sure enough vaccine is ordered. If you wish to cancel your child’s appointment after then, please call the nurse at your child’s school. In addition, we ask that parents not come to school that day to be with their child during the vaccine. Logistically it is very difficult, and it actually creates more anxiety for many children. Most children do great during the vaccine clinic. If you wish to be with your child for the vaccine, your pediatrician's office is better suited for that. If you have any questions, please call your school’s health room at 410-880-5966.
