BLMS Student/Parent Memo

Students should be finished with their math assessments this week on Monday and Tuesday. We are finishing up all assessments and this should help us determine placements in classes looking at the 25-26 school year for 6th and 7th grade students. We look forward to seeing those results and celebrating success with our students as we head into the final 9 days.

Students who qualify will be going on the semester reward trips on Friday, May 16th.

6th grade students will be going to Urban Air for the morning, and coming back to the building for a pizza lunch and fun activities for the afternoon.

7th grade students will be going to the Kansas City Zoo.

8th grade students will be going to World of Fun and returning at approximately 6pm.

Here are the criteria for Reward Day attendance:

REWARD DAY Reward days will be held each semester for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Reward days are school sponsored but not entirely school funded. Reward days are earned for a semester of hard work, good attendance, positive behavior, compliance with the homework policy, and exceptional grades.

Students will not be eligible for the reward day if they meet the criteria listed below.

● Students assigned five or more referrals or assigned OSS will not be eligible for the reward day.

● Students scoring below a 70% in any class for the semester (or quarter if the class only lasts for one quarter of the school year) will not be eligible for the reward day.

We would like to extend an enormous THANK YOU to the wonderful BLMS Booster Club for their support and kindness this week for teacher appreciation week. We really do appreciate all the kindness that you have shown our staff! A special thank you to Joni Gay, Courtney Hatch and the Jimemez family for donating breakfast items and thank you notes for the staff.

We are down to the single digits after today. We have so many things happening right now and some great activities this week. Please come see our Kindness Unites Us or a concert this week if you are able to, they are amazing!
