March Read-A-Thon!
St. Nicholas Catholic School & PAC Presents:
Read-A-Thon 2025
Dear Parents,
St. Nicholas, in partnership with the Parent Council, is pleased to present the 2025 Read-A-Thon fundraiser. The Read-A-Thon fundraiser will start March 1 and run until March 31, 2025.
Funds raised from this year's event will be donated to our students' classrooms to enhance their learning environment and go towards Year End Fun Day!
Included with this letter is a pledge sheet and a minutes read log. Students can collect pledges at a flat rate or per minute read. Students will keep track of the minutes they have read on the minutes read log. If donors have pledged by minutes read, students will need to calculate the total minutes read and collect the pledges starting April 1. (For those that are in Kindergarten and Grade 1, minutes read or time spent with a book qualify!)
This year our school fundraising goal is $3,000.
Becoming an avid reader may seem like a prize, but to heat up the competition, we are offering more fun prizes.
Weekly prizes! Each week, 2 gift cards will be awarded (one for grades k-1 and one for grades 2-4) to students who are actively reading and participating in the Read-A-Thon! If you are reading and filling in your minutes read log, you can fill out a ballot on Thursday each week (March 6,13, & 19) to enter a chance to win a gift card! Gift cards will be drawn and handed out on Fridays!
There will be 4 grand prizes once the Read-A-Thon is completed and all pledge forms, reading minutes logs and pledge money have been turned in!
Mr. Kucy’s Chair for a day! - This prize will be awarded for the highest number of consecutive days in a row read! How do you win this prize? Read each day for a minimum of 10 minutes and fill in your minutes read log form! Have the minutes read log handed in by Friday, April 4, 2025. If there are multiple winners, we will draw names!
Pie your Principal in the face! - Yup, you read that right! The student that raises the most pledge money will pie Mr. Kucy! How do you win this prize? Turn in your pledge forms, reading minutes log, and have your pledge money e-transferred to the Parent Council by Friday, April 4, 2025.
Fun Gift Baskets! - There will be 2 gift basket prizes (one for grades k-1 and one for grades 2-4) for students who read the most number of minutes logged! To win this prize students must fill in their minutes read log, have it signed off by their parent or guardian, and have the minutes read log handed in by Friday, April 4, 2025. If there are multiple winners, we will draw names!
Classroom Donut Party! - This prize will be awarded to the class that has the most number of books read per student! (# of books read by the class/# students in the class) To win this prize students must fill in their minutes read log, have it signed off by their parent or guardian, and have the minutes read log handed in by Friday, April 4, 2025. If there are multiple winners, we will draw names!
Pledge forms and minutes read trackers can be handed into your student’s teacher and pledge money must be e-transferred to st.nicholaspac@gmail.com by Friday, April 4, 2025. Please reach out to the Parent Council if you have any questions!
Happy reading,

Karaoke Club
"For the last several weeks we have been running a Karaoke Club at St Nicholas! On Tuesdays, students can showcase their talents, build self-esteem, and have fun with their peers. It's a great opportunity to express creativity and gain confidence in a supportive environment.
All students are welcome to join – whether they love to sing, dance, or just enjoy the fun! We can’t wait to see their talents shine!
Let’s build community together!
